Broadband with high ping?

How do you see your ping? I have broadband and I'd like to know what ping is! I never have any trouble playing online so I suppose it's a good pinger!

I know it's not a great thing to do, but Firewalls take the piss and make your ping really high. Either find out how to stop it or unfortunately, you'll have to turn it off completely or just deal with itFab said:does anyone know why i have a high ping when playing online gaming?

iam playing Call of Duty online and it bugs me when others kill you easy coz there on a ping of like 20.
It depends on which game you're playing Mumpleaser, on most games you have to bring the console up and type FPS 1 (1 for on 0 for off) and that should do it but it might be different, ask someone in the game

He asked how to do it not what it is, yes it's how quickly your connection takes to send the command and process it. I remember the days when I had 56k What a joke, sniping was a nightmare
What do you mean how to turn it off? It should be in the bar at the bottom of the screen, right click, exit Don't tell too many people it's off though, you should still be fine though, loads of people are too paranoid about that kind of thing

yes... that is true.. infact if your ping is half as bad as 999 then u should give up.. even a 200 ping is bad.. if you are in triple digits you do not have much of a chance really..

i kicked arse on MOH when averaging around 250. Have'nt really played it since i got broadband though...
Anyway, back to the question. Another possible problem is you could just be getting a really bad fps & that tends to slow everything up...

well sorry i was wrong but i wasnt sure thats why i said i think thats right.it does seem longer then 1 second though-=[101st]=- said:

FPS is frames per second, if you have a bad graphics card and a shite processor your FPS will be way down. It doesn't directly affect ping, but if your graphics are on too high in the game for your computer to handle it will slow you down, always play multiplayer games in low detail
