I found it pretty tempting to just buy ALL the classic players, but in the end, I found a bunch of cheap players, who are also very good to use, and has great potentials, well, mostly.

GK
- Yohann Pele - 350+
very decent goalie to start with, he develope pretty well, i suggest you buy a better starter goalkeeper though
- Cech - 750+
although slightly expensive, he is definitely worthy, he is young, and consistent, not very agile, but what goalkeeper needs agile?

CB
- Squali - 450+
although on the curve doesn 't seem high, he is actually a very good defender, his peak last about 3-4 years.
-Felipe- 500+
okay, i have to admit, at first, he is not very good to use, but as time goes on, he developes very well, and he is worthy of his price
Heitinga - 500+
Ajax amsterdam, he isn't an excellent defender at first, but he is good overall, and his potential is very high
Koltari - 500+
again, good potential, but needs time to develop
Chivu - 700+
buy him from AS Roma on the second year, where his price will drop to his lowest, then watch as he reach his peak, absolutely amazing defencemen with exellent freekick.

RB
-Dagaka/Kaebi - 400+
simply amazing once developed, takes about two years before he becomes amazing though.
-Lahm 500+
not as good as Dagaka, but he's peak is almost red, and last about 5 years. a good buy

LB
-Mathieu 450+
I have no clue who he really is, but he is amazingly good, well he sucks the first year, but in about the 3rd year he has excellent free kicks, and super high shooting power.
-Adriano 400+
pretty good, although not as good as Mathieru, for his price you got to be satisfied with his abilbities.

DMF
-Mascherano 600+
argentinian midfielder, he develop very well.

CMF
-Cesc Fabregas 650+
he is so good, im almost sure 50% of you have him on one of your masterleague team. He starts off very good, and his potential is amazing. Definitely overrated, but hey, I dont care.
-M'Bami 400+
will be almost as good as Cesc Fabregas, except that he doesn't have much special abilities.

SMF
C.Ronaldo - 740+
in this game, C.Ronaldo is very overrated, because his potentials reaches the red zone. I'd buy him just to have a player who has special tricks, sometimes its very amusing

Park Ji Sung - 350 start, eventually raise to 650
he is in the game AMF by default, but really, he should be SMF, go edit him
if you start your masterleague with him, then you got a good deal. He has extrordinary stamina, can run all over the field. he isn't very good passer, but he is a very useful player.

AMF
personally, I dont like saving money on AMF, but here are some good ones

-Joe Cole- 680+ (super fast speed)
-Blowm(need real name) - 840+
-Schelnow(need real name) - 860+

really, get a good AMF, this is a player you SHOULDN'T save your money on.
as soon as possible, get diego maradona, or someone with similar magnitude.

CF/SS

Rooney - 800+
one of the omfg players, he can dribble, shoot, freekick, run fast, omfg?!!!

Fernando Torres 750+
excellent scorer, tall, good post, combined with good skills.

Zola 480+
for such a good player, I'm surprised he is so cheap, in the game he is called sorua.

again, don't save your money on your #1 striker, get a superstriker from pes-shop that is 1000+
players such as
Pele- 1800
Eusebio(elcherano) - 1370
Gualaas-1500

non-PES-Shop, get
Henry 1400
Ronaldo 1100
Shevchenko
Eto'o
Adriano

these players run fast, dribble well, and score almost all the time one-on-one.

BUT REMEMBER, only buy ONE superstriker, so choose well.
if you choose ronaldo, he is a fading superstar, but hey, he can do those 2xR2 tricks.

if these numbers are wages, 20,000 is expensive compared to my ML team. Im beginning to dominate ML with a team on 9,500, no superstars and only buying a maximum of 3 players a season. All from an original team that was possible worse than the original ML team u get.

9,500? thats very possible, I mean if you use cheap substitude players, 9500 isn't hard. I personally like to have my substitudes not much worse than my starters, which raise the cost.

Classic error. Why have a young developing goalkeeper (Pele) sitting on the bench? He won't improve, especially being a goalkeeper. How many times do you change your goalkeeper in a year? You can easily pick up a keeper with keeper skills of 88ish on the cheap. Same with Fabregas and M'Bami. M'Bami won't improve sitting on the bench, and will therefore just be a poor backup.

A good read though, nice to see someone spend some time to type about the best game in the world. ;)

I know 9,500 is very possible. I think the highest earner is on about 500 points and I keep at least 20 players, but no more than 25. I picked up a cracking winger for something like 350 points a season called Moracchini and he cant half belt the ball!. I have him as an Attacking Midfielder and he always hangs round the edge of the box and anytime he is in space, I will play it back to him so he can give it a good belt.

OH, no, you got me wrong, You only buy them as starters, you don't buy both M'bami and Cesc and Mascherano, what i mean is you buy one good player for one postion and just get a cheap+decent backup. You keep your starters on your team, and you always get rid of old non decent backups as the seasons move on.

Still, i can't resist the temptation to buy a super striker, it changes everything. I think there are some hidden attributes of players that one cannont edit, the super strikers typically have good hidden attributes where cheap looks good strikers just dont have it.

my salaries add up to 23,000
i have got an array(sp) of superstars to my disposal though. my team is almost perfect. i have many of the young players mentioned above and some experienced players such as eto'o & mutu. the young players that i really recommend are:
felipe,vomme,virgo,lahm,dagaka
anderson, bauhamhon(sp?), mbami, rosales,joe cole
vaughan, babel, farfan

My team adds up to be 16,300, only because i have a created player on my team with the name of yours truly, the next most expensive players are my strikers, who are:
Eusebio
Brian Laudrup
Rooney
Fernando Torres

for most people, it would be very wasteful to have so many good strikers, but what i noticed is that players have something called hidden attributes, usually with players that appears good, they sometimes have horrible hidden attributes. Namely, Park Ji Sung. Although he appears brilliant, when i use him he can never pass the ball right, nor dribble right, despite good stats he can develop. This is why I bought some expensive strikers, because i believe they have good hidden attributes which you can use :p.

If anyone noticed, from PES4, When I used to have Bierhoff, he will often intercept goalie passes and scores directly, and it doesn't happen almost as often for other players. I believed this was a hidden attribute.

Ok, *bows head in shame* My wage bill is currently something like 37,000. But before you shun me from the group let me explain myself. I had a great young team in my first master league, but didnt have 6* open so i restarted and just bought loads of good players and got promoted quickly in order to play in the first division, most of the big names I have bought sit on the bench. My team really has the backbone of players such as Joe Cole, Matheiu, Baumjohann, YOhann Pele, Cesc Fabregas, Heitinga, De Jong I also have the likes of AMbrose and Lucho Gonzales but i have the likes of Zico, Maradonna and Shevchenko in amongst them, with Henry and Adriano and the like on the bench who i cant off load.
Oh by the way i know he's quite well known but i think someone who is quite under estimated is Miccoli, really nippy little striker even though his stats wouldn't suggest it.

like i said, it is VERY tempting to just stack your team with superstars, some stars won't even get to go on. RESIST THAT TEMPTATION, just buy stars for your starter team, and decent players as back-up.

Just play Manchester and u'll have a dominating team by the 1st negotiation period cuz so many talented youngsters. At that time I always go for Eto'o (trade for Saha + 1k) and Messi (WE10 stats). Then at end season I always buy Mascherano, Isaksson (peaks faster than Pele and lasts 5 years), Kaebi, Schut, Park Chu Young. Then I get rid of Giggs, Brown, Van der Sar, Silvestre, and all the youngers like Bardsley and Rossi. Salary only 16k and absolutely dominating team. R.Ferdinand continues to grow at 27 all the way til 30 :eek:hmy: . So many of your starters will be red halfway thru 2nd season and any team will love to have RVN as main striker but he's my supersub, covering for Eto'o :) . I play Alan Smith as CMF and Scholes covers for Rooney.

Of course u can have a great team for under 15k and I've never reached 20k so its not a hard objective.

I have just 1 "star" in my team now and still under 10,000 a season and Im into the year 2015 now and won the league 5 times in a row and now the WEFA Championship. Im winning everything. These are some of my players.

GK: Wolfgang Wolf (can anyone name his current club IRL?)
DF: Ivan Hurtado (Ecuador WC captain), Roberto Maltagliati (which club IRL??), Jacek Bak (Poland WC player), Max Lorenz (wich club again IRL?), Chiqui Arce (2002 WC Paraguay), Juan Valesco (club??)
MF: Lauren Morrachini (French midfielder formerly of Nancy), Paul Bosvelt, Ricardo Maspero (club IRL?), Billy MacDonald (Scottish player), Hassan Noushevar (Iranian, but isnt he a ref IRL?), Rene Grummel (Dutch player once of Emmen), Steven Gerrard (now 35 and doesnt play every game coz of fitness)
FW: Ivan Rosado (Spanish, i think... which club?), Arturo Di Napoli (Italian...which club??)

I also have a player called Farouk at RB and M.Hughes (Michael Hughes?, the Irishman?). Only 1 star in my side and probably only plays 50% of games and last season, beat Chelsea 6-1

I just picked up Bos and Shimizu in the 1st transfer window of a 1st ML season. How lucky am I? :D . Also picked up Messi (WE10 stats), Eto'o, Mascherano, and Arsenal offered Flamini for Eagles. Bos is a 17 year old who asks for 1k but its worth it I guess. Bill is 19.5k right now, hoping to get rid of Giggs and RVN and few others during off season and it should be back to 16k, which doesn't matter anyways when u make over 50k per season. Teams don't get any better than this.

How about having a Master League team when the highest salary you are allowed to pay is 800 ?

Or one where if a bid comes in for a player you have to sell him.

Come on - if you were a manager you would have a money orientated chairman on your case and in PES 5 after you have won something the money aspect is never a problem - which it should be

I like this 800 limit per player. The team I have, the only player above 800 I have is Gerrard at 900, the rest are between 400 and 600

It can work and every now and then you get a nice surprise. Messi's contract was up for renewal and it said 1050 but I only offered him 799 - I was shocked as hell when he signed a new contract, but if he had of gone that's football and I would have had to deal with it like real managers

mufcsean

is LOST
i have a good rotation sytem going on in my team i try and change every player evry game unless somebody is on really good form and seen as i have such a young team it really helps people develope a lot

my recomendations are;
hildebrand, GK, Stuttgart
david villa, CF, Valencia
Schweinsteiger, anywhere in MF, Bayern Munich

these are my most improved players that nobody else has mentioned

I always do contract renewal slowly, as u have the whole 8 weeks to come to terms cuz if a player refuses a contract they won't leave u right away, not til the final week. This means some of my players are being paid around 200 less than they ask for, especially the aging players.

Here's my current team, 1st half of 2nd season. Bill only 16k for a team like this.

GK: Isaksson, Van der Sar, Howard
DF: R.Ferdinand, Heinze, Silvestre, O'shea, Brown, Evra, Kaebi, Pique, Bardsley, Puyol (traded for Giggs), Bos
MF: Scholes, Mascherano, Park Ji Sung, Shimizu, Flamini (traded for Eagles; Arsenal offered)
FW: Rooney, A. Smith, Eto'o (traded for Saha + 2k), Ronaldinho (traded for RVN), Messi (WE10 stats), C.Ronaldo

I use default ManU formation with the defense arrows changed.

---------------Isaksson------------------
---O'shea---Puyol---Ferdinand---Heinze---
---------------Mascherano---------------
---------A.Smith-------------------------
-------------------Ronaldinho-------------
---Park---------Rooney-------C.Ronaldo---

Rio, O'shea, Smith, and C.Ronaldo never tires (check my other thread). Rio and O'shea play every single match including cups. Puyol and Park tires very very slowly. I can't get Heinze to not fatigue. I kept Van der Sar cuz I need to use the sub trick for Isaksson to play every league match without fatigue, and I'd rather look at his name on team sheet than Howard. Bos covers for Mascherano or Puyol, Shimizu for Ronny. Messi and Eto'o are my supersubs. I play Kaebi where Park plays but bring him back 2 spaces and change to SMF. All my players are getting paid much less than what they ask for (except for Puyol, Ronny, Eto'o, and Isaksson), and they're all long term contracts. Park only getting 300 for 5 years  , Shimizu 450 for 5 years, when he's asking for 1200 now. I don't think everyone can have Bos and Shimizu on the same team let alone obtain both at the same time during 1st transfer window of 1st season. Very fun team to play with :) . Bardsley, Pique, and Flamini are going btw, just waiting for offers.

Mathieu is insanely good, I'm at 3rd season, and he is already in the 90s, 4 special stars, only costing me less than 500 a year.

Anyone discovered Zola yet? That guy is possibly the best thing you can find in the game, he remains in 91 for rest of his career, and only cost about 450, although you can sign him for less than 400.

Faubert, Hleb, Joe Cole and Ronaldinho are really good buy's
Faubert is fast and improves well as seasons go on.
Hleb improves alot and is good 2 start with.
Joe Cole is he same as Hleb.
And Ronaldinho, being as good as he is, in my opinion improves the most on the game in the first few seasons.
