Hi guys i have been playing PES for a while now and i have notice that my game is still very amature, i mean i am having trouble beating Chelsea on Regular setting with Man U in the Champions league:crymore: :fplm:, i know this forum has a lot of class players which play the game on Top Player regularly and score meny goals, so i was wondering if any of you guys could take me under your wing and give me some pointers which will dramatically improve my all round game this would be much appreciated.

Thanking you all in advance

As with anything in life, practice makes perfect, each player has a system, soem like to use fast wingers and cut backs, others like balls over the top, just try different ways and see which works for you.

I usually string lots of passes to draw opposition out then put through the killer through ball this and cool as a cumber finishing! haha

EDIT: also try linking up play, by this i mean when passing (not with yoru back line) hold the lb/l1 button so the player makes a ruin after he has passed then play him through, i have scored many a goal like this.

your using utd so easy. use a 4-2-4 formation with with ronaldo really advanced and dont use dmfs. use a cmf and an amf

Don't rush, be patient and enjoy the build up. Play where your facing, and don't try impossible passes. Get familiar with the L1 button or LB button. Just hold down the L1 button whilst making a simple pass and the player you passed with will now make a run. As Darkstar has said, its so much easier to score like this. One touch all the way through the team...

As for defending, Only use the slide tackle if your 100% of making the tackle. If you fail to make the tackle, you will either be carded, or take that palyer out of position, then using another player to cover him then losing he's position which creates big gaps.

As for tackling as a whole, give yourself and the player with the ball some space. Wait for them to make a mistake, or intercept the ball at the right moment. DON'T dive in, because 90% of the time you will lose out. Also use the pressure button to intercept the AI's passes. Just make sure your always goal side of the player with the ball.

Cheers guys much appreciated, taking it all onbord anymore will be great

When you get a moment on the ball unpressured, always glance at the radar to see where all your players are. Makes long range passing easier. Instead of pressing L1 as well as X to pass and run, you can press X then R2 quickly after. This is how i normally do it.

For shooting, use R2 along with square to do a placed shot. This is especially good when one-on-one with the keeper.

Off the ball, use X to close down the player on the ball. Be careful how much you use this though, as they might turn you and leave you for dead.

Other than that, just try and be patient with your build ups. Don't just sprint straight forward with every player as soon as you get on the ball, you'll get nowhere.

I never use the radar... I set my own formation and I always know where my players are. But maybe that's just down to experience, not sure...

Oh, another thing about the L1 button... Don't use this with your centre backs as you will leave big holes and ESPECIALLY don't use it with the keeper... I do it sometimes out of bad habit and get owned. :(

Haha, I've done it from goal kicks before - if I do I kick it upfield and out of play to be doubley safe.

I've been playing the series for 15 years so i'm pretty experienced, and the radar is a massive part of the game. There's NO way you can know exactly where all your players and all your opposition's players are without it.

dont sprint too much... uh mix it up a bit. sometimes try lobbed through balls. try and play 4-3-3 always... either 2 CF and 1LWF/RWF or 1CF, 1LWF and 1RWF.

defensivley, keep is very simple... if u have rooney+ronaldo.. don't be scared to hold down circle for ur clearances because it can createa 1o1 chance. if ur gonna cross, make sure u have a tall player in ur striking lineup. otherwise, go for width with players looking to cut inside.

dont overuse R1+X because you will open sooo many holes in ur defence its unbelievable. always try to close down using ur strikers or midfielders.. leave ur back 4 intact so that you're not vulnerable to counterattacks. when counterattacking, always use ur LWF/RWF and cut inside at first oppurtunity cos the AI is very good at limited ur oppurtunities to cutinside after a few seconds.

Why can't I?

Its easy... As long as you don't drag all your players out of position, trying to take on the world its easy enough. I don't play long, I play tight, one touch passes. So I know where everyone is.

Do you use the wide camera? If not, try it.

U missing out if you never use the radar, try it sometimes . For me sometimes when I was passing the ball around, I only looked at the radar rather than the players or the ball

I know what your all trying to get at, but it really depends on your style of play. I like to keep it short and sweet, so using the wide camera I can see everything that I need to, and I haven't gone wrong so far :)
