ok i'm a major fan of pes2006 and still play it when others are online, however since then ive really struggled to love the newer versions.. i have 2010 and although the graphics are great its the gameplan im struggling with, i must be doing something wrong to give Konami the benefit of the doubt.. things just seem so slow and the players often dont react quickly enough ..others seem to know things i don't ..(my excuse)

so before i ebay this game out of frustration of getting my a** kicked online everytime , any pointers to help me improve will be much appreciated..

Hi, maybe some simple tips here which i hope you might find useful, if you still require them

1. Play 4-3-3 formation.

2. Play players with Red Formation.

3. I find it is easier to score from crosses in PES 2010 as compared to other ways.

4. When the going gets tough, try long shots. Even if you miss, the defenders will start to pressure you more, which leave gaps at the back for you to exploit. You will find more chances coming your way after that.

5. To win headers, hold R2 to position yourself in front of your opponent before heading the ball.

Perhaps you can try these 5 first before moving on :)

Well said. Also try some early crosses, works wonders in this new Pes. When moving with winger/smf, keep your eye a bit on your frontman, if you have a feeling he's going to sprint behind defenders hit an early cross, even from quite a way from goal. Scored many goals like this when the opponent seems hard to break.

I also love in Pes2010 the fact that lots of weird stuff can happen in six yard box as there's more physics involved. This includes to early crosses as well.. you might find yourself in a good position by accident/luck. Ugly goals count as well ;) And as said hit some long rangers as well, never know how it's gonna bounce.

SWAN DIVE!
Off the top of my head:

-R1+Triangle is one of the best tactical moves in the game IMO. As you're breaking out on the counter-attack, have someone around the centre circle with the ball and keep a good eye on your moving strikers, then just release and watch them make the final run.

-When in a 1on1 situation, hit Square and then Triangle really quickly after. Dummy's the keeper and he suddenly takes a little dirt nap.

-As for free kicks, what I do is press L1+R1 to have the second taker there. Then hold L1 and press X so he sets the ball out, then I just blast it with the first guy, though you'll need to initially angle it wider than the goal to make room for the ball's initial movement.

-If you want to experiment with new moves just play a long game against easy opposition and find a groove that works with you. We all play our own way. My brother likes to pass it to the fast guy and leg it towards goal. My uncle passes it 4000 times and then blasts it. Personally I love keeping it in the air with crosses, headers, lobs, chips etc. You just gotta' find your style.
