Can't play 2 vs 2 online matches, how to fix it?

I have my PS3 connected directly to the internet via ethernet cable, but when I try to access 2 vs 2 online matches or even friendly matches I get an error, it suggests that I connect my PS3 directly to the internet(I already have).

It then suggests that I mess around with assign DMZ, port mapping, and configure NAT in the network settings if I want to have access to the 2 vs 2 feature.

Considering that my PS3 is already connected directly to the internet, which parameters should I mess around with?

Specific instructions would be greatly appreciated.

I have sort of the same problem. With me, it just says the room has been disconnected 9/10 times. 1v1 matches run just fine, even 2v1 matches are okay. But as soon as there are 4 people in the room, it gives an error. I also have the PS3 directly linked to my PS3. When I look at the options on PES, it says something about opening ports. Do you guys know where this is for and if this helps?

Pokervriend try this: In PES main menu go to system setting, then port settings, if it's set to OFF, then change it to AUTO.

I had this problem. Are you using an O2 wireless box as your router?

I have my PS3 connected directly to my Belkin router which is connected to my cable modem. I figured out was what wrong. It turns out I had a limited NAT 3 and I'm supposed to have NAT 2.

Basically you're supposed to assign a static IP address to your PS3 and then open up some ports in your router.

Yea you can put it on off. Off just means manually select the port. Note the port number. If it doesn't fix the problem, try 6112 and try 5739. If still having problems, you'll need to follow the instructions on Portforward.com. Just select your router on the front page.
