must agree with the guy earlier...im starting to think that it way to easy to score from headers...im someone that cross into the box when i can and im starting to score 2-3 per game...since the CPU defense cant seem to connect before i do...

I am the "guy earlier" and im happy im not the only one noticing this... im an average player at best and always score 1/2 goals from headers without really trying...

Another thing i noticed: it´s too easy to shoot from mid range. The ball always leaves the foot too acurately and powerful. I would like to see some shot´s WAY outside of the nets...

But again, this is not this option file fault! It´s the game itself. Hopefully Chimps can do something to improve this on the option file.

I have been away for a few days and will try and answer as much on here as I can later on.

With regards to people socring too many goals, are you using the v1 or v1.1 option file.

I started trying to slow the game down with the 1.1 version and a few have said it feels speeded up and others have said it feels easier.

If your using the v1.1 and find it easy, try using he original option file that came with the full download.

If that doesnt sort it out and your using one team most of the time, you could reduce the short passing speed by a couple for players with the highest rating on that team.

I am working on sorting out the difficulty, but its very difficult as changes I make on my ps3 or not having the same effect when installed on other ps3's and when you slow the teams that pass fastest down, they become a lot easier to play against.

Yes Chimp your right... its different cause I beleive the major problem with speed is the kind of TV your using... it wont be the same if your playing a 42"" or if your played on a 52"...so you cant really work on the speed of the game and have the same effect for everyone.

I believe it will be very difficult to make the game harder by changing stats of players, because, for example, if you reduce the header stat, it will also do it for cpu, and then, the cpu will also have trouble scoring that way. If you reduce shooting, it´s the same. If you raise something for all teams, the one we play will also be raised...

The secret is in the tactics. The CPU doesn´t attack enough. I tried this with a couple of teams: In assisted settings i put the slider that defines the style of the team (1 - super defensive, 2 - defensive, 3 - balanced 4 - offensive...) at 4, meaning offensive. But then, for me not to score in quick counter attacks all the time, i set the backline WAY behind (at 15/20).

This means that the CPU doesn´t defend at the midfield line, so i can´t just lob passes to their back, and since the balance of the team is set at 4 (offensive) they try to atack as soon as they have the ball!

This is very basic but i noticed a big difference and it could be improved, by tweaking things like compactness, etc...

Just my two cent´s...

What is most confusing is that I slowed the game down for 1.1 and more people say that it plays faster.

There is ways to make the opposition play better and be harder to beat without making them easier to use.

Aggression, Tenacity and Teamwork can be used to make a team be much harder to play against. This is why all teams will have most players at 80+ for these.

If you then make the game smoother by increasing the agility and response and dribbling accuracy, you then have to offset this with making the opposition better.

The trouble is, the first option file was almost there, but in reducing the stats to slow down the very best teams, they have become to easy to play against with smaller teams.

I spent some time yesterday editing the dutch league and it seemed better, but then realised that I could now take a small dutch team and beat inter milan on top player, which isn't right

Yes, thats the problem right there: beat good teams with bad teams on top player!

Maybe the best teams need to play in a not so realistic manner to be hard to play against them.

I remember that in previous PES versions, on top player, the best teams when controlled by the cpu, didn´t play a realistic game (passing too quicky, never missing an oportunity in front of the keeper, scoring a lot of goals on corner kicks). Maybe that´s the way it needs to be for them to be real hard to play against...

I think gameplay was better on your first file, I have gone back to using that one.

Is there an easy way of reverting back to the default player stats but keeping all the edited kits and teams as I'm now not sure if I prefer this to the original gameplay, although I appreciate what you guys have tried to do with the game.

Changing the subject slightly I decided to play PES2008 this morning just to check out how far Konami had come since then and I have to say apart from graphics and game speed there isn't an awful lot of difference to PES2010. I suggest everybody who still has their copy of PES2008 do this just to check it out, I have to admit I quite enjoyed a quick crack on 2008.

Jimmydazzler,

Since you have a copy of PES 2008 (i don´t have mine, sold it long ago...) can you please play a game on top player with the same teams (for example, Barcelona vs Barcelona) and then play a game in PES 2010 in Top Player with the same teams and describe the differences?

Maybe it can shed a light to understand what we need to do in order to improve the game on the highest difficulty...

Sort of done this already, I played the same game Barcelona v Villareal on 2008, 2009 and 2010(2010 had chimps file though) all on top player.

RESULTS PLAYING AS BARCELONA
2008: Barcelona 3-0 Villareal This was maybe a bit too easy to dribble round people but the A.I were dangerous on the break.

2009: Barcelona 1-3 Villareal I had many chances to win the game but the A.I were clinical in front of goal although their second goal was a penalty which one of my team mates decided to give away, this reminded me why I hated 2009 so much. Definately the hardest A.I of the three versions.

2010: Barcelona 2-0 Villareal Well, we all know about the A.I in 2010 dont we, although it does seem a bit harder to grind out a result with chimps first gameplay file.

So 2009 definately had the most difficult opposition A.I. Maybe its worth looking at 2009 for some answers.

i think the 1st gameplay file is harder man, and the speed has been fine after a couple of sessions ,id stick with editing that one for games vs the cpu

I don't think any of the german teams have been edited by me yet in any of files released yet.

I am thinking about going back to the first file editing from there. I am after making the game as hard, yet enjoyable as possible and most seem to prefer the first file

OK.

Just went back to the original file and it feels slower than the one I had been working. I think that by trying to make the game smoother, the game speeded up and give people more space to cross and shoot, so it became easier.

Can you put the file up on rapidshare instead of through msn as I have trouble getting files from it
