Championship Manager or Football Manager? I must stress I am talking about Championship Managers 1 - 03/04, and Football Managers 2005, 2006 and 2007.

It has caused much debate in my English class over the last week or so, as I am firly in the CM camp and the lad I sit next to is and FM kid, although I don't think he's even played CM. Personally, I prefer the simplicity of the old school, plus Newcastle were summat else on 96/97.

So, whadya reckon?

Football Manager. Like Original? said, they're better and more realistic. I'm also a fan of games which don't have major flaws that can be exposed like the training and formation quirks of previous versions. There are probably some in FM2007 but I'm currently unaware of them.

Early CM games were easy to take advantage of - completely accidentally too.

Cham man was the best, football managers better in features an the rest but its got too many and makes it complicated, though i play footy manager most of the time champ man still the best.

i only seem to go on footy manager in january cos of the excitement of transfers i just wanna go on a spending spree myself lol

the real question though sensible soccer or pro evo? lol

I like CM 97/98 as its the ultimate in pick-up-and-play, choose a formation and a passing style, pick some players and go for it. The extravagant mid 90s transfer budgets are a hoot too, I dream of a day when Newcastle will have £22.5m to spend.
