grab two fellas off the street, they'l be a great deal better than trev anyway

Let's get one thing clear here.

The crappy commentary is not Peter Brackley and Trevor Brooking's fault. You can't really blame them (even though I find Peter Brackley's voice annoying, to say the least).

They're just told to read out lines. Konami are the ones who've dropped the ball on this one (and have been for several years).

The bad commentary is down to bad scripting. And the general language and grammar used is poor. If konami hired a professional English linguist (who happened to be a football fan), then we'd see a dramatic improvement in the quality of the commentary.

It's as simple as that.

Anyway, the point of this thread is; which commentary pair would you prefer for PES6/7/8 etc? Not "what do you think about the commentary in PES5"?

methical

as normal as norman bates
well even though it is the script wrighters fault (its the worst script in the hitory of scripts) the voice of pb is annoying and we dont want to hear it any more

any of the bbc commentators except jonathan pierce or any of itvs commentators are fine

they dont even need 2 commentators they can do well with just 1, they should probably get an english footie fan or the commentator to do the scripts to make it more realistic

I know this sounds really stupid and would never happen but wouldn't be cool if you could plug in those singstar mikes in and get your mates to commentate?

You mean, record your own commentary?

It would be nice to record your own commentary.

But, I don't think the technology is available to allow recording of a human voice on a PS2 (unless I'm missing something).

I ment real time commentry as you play the game. I know you can get mikes for the PS2 (not sure how they plug in tho) and have your mates commentate while you are playing a tourny with them.

fifas commentators please

No way.

Konami need to bring in a commentary pair that already exists on TV. As it adds to the authenticity of the game.

I'm sure most of you would agree with me.

So, we can't have John Motson paired together with Ally McCoist. This is because one works for the BBC and one works for ITV.

We should only have commentary pairs that already exist on TV. For example:

Martin Tyler and Andy Gray (Sky Sports);
Clive Tyldesley and Andy Townsend (ITV);
John Motson and Trevor Brooking (BBC).

Take your pick.

Martn Tyler and Bryan Hamilton.

Bryan Hamilton is also ace, im not sure about Tyler hes on the new Fifa road to world cup game and imo don't sound that good..

I think one of the problems with comentators on footie games is that they say things that they wouldnt actually say in real life matches. Like Brooking always seems to come out with some very strange comments...
