Did a search but couldn't find a thread about this so ....
I've recently started playing the Community Mode on PES2008 (PS2). It's quite good in some ways. You enter the name of all players and when you play each other it keeps track of the stats between you all. So that's good.
Bad points - For every single match you play you have to pause, go to Player Settings and change everything from the game defaults to your preferred choices. Eg, change the cursor change from auto to manual. Change the keeper select and then change the name above player heads from your own (user) name to either the number or the player name. Gets annoying. Seems as if it wasn't properly tested. Ah, good old Nokami.
And also before you go into a match from the main menu, you have to fix all the match settings every single time you load the Community Mode. Unless you want to play on the medium difficulty on random arrows with a blue ball and everything else set to random. It saves .... player data only. Doesn't care what you do to the settings, you'll just have to do them again next time. Unless you never turn your console off... in which case you just have to fix the cursor settings with every match. Hmmmm. Well, it's an interesting way to record that you beat a friend in 8 out of the last 10 matches.
And you also get to enter your star sign. So it tells you that Gemini has lost the most matches. And there are also some 'titles' awarded. Such as one for the player with most possession in the last few matches, best shot conversion rate, most wins. And you can see a nice pie-chart of your results. And etc. Good to know the things that Nokami concentrates on when they should be improving the game in many other ways.
Anyone else tried this mode? Thoughts?
