Thanx Zyg for the link to this nice option edit-app. Now I have a MAX drive, and thus my optionfiles are in the .max format. I can see that there is an app, the PS2 savebuilder, to convert to and from various different formats. However this app is for Windows only, which renders it pretty useless on my Macintosh computer.
My question goes: Is there a similar app for Mac or is there any other way to either convert .max to OF on a Mac or get the OF directly from my PS2?

Thanx in advance to anyone that can help.

PS. Moustafa 2005, this link should help you get startet:

Sorry but I don't know. Maybe you can use the windows version through an emulator?

Thanx Zyg, but the emulators for mac are petty bad. I wrote the guys at ps2savetools to learn if they were planing on doing a java or Mac version and this is the answer I got from the nice Gothi:

I'm afraid there is no Mac tool I know of for extracting .max files and the author of PS2 Save Builder has long since moved on and does not have the source of the application due to a hard drive failure. A few people have come to me to try and figure out the .max encryption but none have come back with any progress. I understand it uses a modified version of zlib or something similar such as gif compression but further than that I know very little. I believe Vector, who wrote the tool, may have examined the AR binary and figured out the compression routine from there.

Mayby someone who knows about programming would feel inspired and have a go?

Best regards

How do we convert PES files to WE files?

Using the PESFan Editor this is how I do it

* The first step might not be neccesary but it is what I do and you have to have a WE OF save handy anyway.

Load any WE File, does not matter which assuming you are planning to use everything on the PES file

Then load (OF2) which is your PES file.

Copy all the PES stuff over the WE file.

Save OVER the existing WE file.

Presto.... I get to use Paul B's terrific Cocal Cola Championship file!
