I used to get quite annoyed at this in the last PES BAL mode however this time around it is worse. I hate it when the GK kicks the ball up and my player automatically runs towards the ball even though the ball is headed to a team mate of mine. I press R1 & R2 for super cancel however the response to this is really poor.

Other examples of this is when you press pass but using the L1 for the 1-2 pass the player runs forward and could be running slightly wrong way and you can't use super cancel to change direction. I would like complete control over my player but i cant have it.

I know. It's annoying. But the BAL player's response is around 60's which is really bad. This sucks. I think we should have started with a better response. This makes it unplayable at times aswell. I hope my player develops quick because right now I am really angry at the response of my player. However I tried playing as Babel alone and it was much better.

i never experienced this problem i think this is a situation of either you guys having a laggy system or not using the buttons correctly. if your player is running towards a header you dont want to go to you have to hold both r1+r2 till the header is played (its possible you can just super cancel(r1+r2) then just use r2 but im usually sprinting to space at this time so i have no idea!

Its really annoying.

Even from the tip off, your BAL player auto runs straight up the pitch for about 10 meters, whether you want him to or not, and super cancel doesn't work properly.

Its a pain. I would have assumed that turning auto-move 'off', would, ya know, turn the bloody thing off.

beyond the running forward a little bit right at kickoff if you are the guy who initially kicks it off...the only time the "computer will control your character" is if you have pressed some button to make it do so. however there are many buttons that will make your character automatically run towards the ball or the goal you are attacking so if you are holding down buttons or pressing even remotely random button combinations its quite possible to get a feel that the "computer is controlling your character" when in reality you told it to do what it is doing youjust dont know how.

ive now played thru 8 BAL seasons starting on regular and working my way up to consistently winning on top player now and at the start i def had times where i thought the game was being wacky and making my guy do something i didnt tell it to, however on every occasion sans the kickoff one, ive later learned that it was something i was pressing unknowingly trying to do something else.

i can honestly say i feel i have total control over my character the whole time i play in BAL now.

TBH thats b0ll0x.

The AI is taking control of my player. This is very evident WHEN I DON'T PRESS ANY BUTTONS.

And I'm pretty sure, from playing Pro Evo for years, that I know what I did when I press a damn button on the joypad.

The AI takes control of your player in situations in BAL in 2010. End of, and its annoying.

BAL wasn't as controlled in '09, it definitely is in 2010.

It was in 09 aswell, now it's slightly more evident because of response issues.

It's the same for a through ball that you know you will be offside for. Super Cancel is miles too unresponsive and takes ages to kick in. By which time the ref has blown for offside even if you managed a super cancel and are already running in the opposite direction to the ball. This to me is the most frustrating lack of control in the game!

(Sorry to start my 1st post here in a negative way, it just seems you don't fully understand the problem!)

Listen, the things you are listing is a fact.

Yes, you run up the field when you kick the ball off - but not very far. And besides, 98% of the times, your teammates passes the ball down or to the sides and by the time the ball reaches them, you'll have regained control of your player.

The fact that your player takes a run for it when a through ball is played - yes, it's true. But you can avoid that situation by not always being cmpaed up high on the field. I used to get off-side calls all the time but now, I rarely get em.

I play my SS striker as a Target Man, even tough he's like 177cm long. I come down, meet the play and usually receive the ball. After which I pass it onto the sides. What happens next differs, but I'm rarely the player highest up in the field.

I would like the controlling to be improved to something like the psp one..or the type in pes 6.

It gives something like a free control where the player doesnt automatically run to the ball.

i get realy frustrated when someone passes the ball to me. My player automatically runs to it and sometimes the player will miss the ball? WTF

super cancel

for some reason super cancel reaction time is too slow...
my players running for nearly every header, and having just started my career im not winning any of them... this is something that really has to be fixed for 2011.

For example when the GK kicks the ball from kick off up to the forwards, i am a CF, even though it's heading towards my team mate, the other CF example. Defoe. the Computer will get my player to run towards it. I press super cancel to stop this and there is like some force which says no you must go for the header. Laughable really.

Anyway i have learnt to deal with this as i have seen so many stupid things in this mode already. Team mates leaving the ball because it was meant for a team mate who ia further away for example.
