Yeah, I admit it... I've disconnected many a player in this years pes.
But you know what? I don't feel bad about it at all, every one of the players deserved it.
I bought pes 13 with high hopes. I didn't bother with 12 as 11 was pretty poor. I had high hopes for a revamped online and a resurgent community. My internet was down when I bought the game on release, I had fun playing with friends and messing about with the ml and editing options. Then my internet service was reconnected.
It was now time to play online. I was disappointed to find that nothing much had changed but for some reason I could no longer play ranked matches in the lobbies. This meant no in lobby chat, room names and most importantly abilty to kick somebody out that you didn't want to play. I wanted to play ranked games though, I like to see how I compare and have rating targets to aim for. I jumped in, first game I quickly pick Juve whose no look squad I wanted to try, my opponent picks Madrid, no problem we are both strong teams.
I then do what I always do and pick pretty randoms teams, teams like Fiorentina, Ajax and Denmark. To my disappointment my first 13 games were all against Madrid, 14 was Barca, the next few all madrid again. I started to notice the effect the team had a ranking points, pratically nothing. This seemed pretty unfair to me.
I came to realise that 99% of these players abuse the broken through ball system to their fast fowards, Ronaldo. I lost games to guys with less than 60% passes complete and 35% possession. Shocking stats reflecting terrible play, terrible yet it would work. High passing support and holding triangle seemed to be how to win. I didn't spend my money to play like this, there is no skill, no strategy and no teamwork.
So I started to d/c these players.
Not in game however, I'd d/c after the teams were picked, for example if I picked Siena and they chose Madrid then I have no time for you. Not because I lose as I do fairly well against them but the fact that it reduces the games skill level and encourages bad play, it's like an quickly spreading disease, too many have adopted if you can't beat them join them and it's killing them game.
Konami have let me down. They must have stats, they must be able to see that 98% are Madrid vs Madrid.
Why wasn't there an option to limit the skill level of teams so those of us who don't want to play Real every match can. Why were the old ranking lobbies removed? Why did they think allowing passing support to so greatly effect through balls in competitive play was a good idea. Why is this not being addressed in the patches?
It surely can't be that difficult to create lobbies and tournaments for certain team strengths.
So yeah I'm QQing about it because a series of games I used to love has been destroyed by it's community and it's producers. I'll no longer bother D/Cing players, last time it took me about half and hour to find a game and even that was against psg. I'll simply stick to the offline and avoid next years edition unless major improvements are made to the online aspect of the game which konami have neglected year after year.
