Can anyone give some advice as to which positions and situations are best to use the Covering tactic instead of Zone? Does it make any difference for the Sweeper as well?

i think sweeper its the best way to defend cuz , you always have one man in the back, and man covering works great, when they have 2 or more forwards, for example if my sweeper is nesta and my other CB is Perea, and im facing AC Milan, i put Perea in to agresive man coverage to the nearest forward, for example Gilardino, and it works great, adding the help of the LB's

DMF in a 4-5-1 formation. If your DMF has the Marking ability, he'll lose it if u choose Covering so its better to use someone with Covering or Sliding ability. Makelele and Roy Keane some of the best.
