Defenders Slowing Down

Guys,

Does anybody know how to speed up a defender when the ball goes over the top, 9 out of 10 times he slows down to a walking pace when the ball is floated over the top at a angel and the strikers / wingers don't get affected?

Try the super-cancel move by holding R1+R2.
Alternatively, position your defenders further back so they can face the ball as it drops.

Thanks, I tried the R1 and R2 together but it didn't work i will move them back a little and see it that works.

yeah i usually do the L1/L2 and move them back as needed

generally that doesnt happen to me too often

never really had this kind of problem before but alternatively (dont know if this method will work) you could try control another player, and press :square: for the computer player to close him down, and the computer controlled defender should be able to sprint and not slow down. That could give you some time to get your player back and to tackle their attacker.
