Did the new patch save this game?

yea i think we all do.

Maybe this is konamis way of sticking a middle finger up too all the pes fans who unleashed hatred on them for trying to develop a platform to the new gen for us

I think its hard to blame Konami for this, some people wanted it like this- immediately be able to turn 180, shooting as soon as they press the button, beeing up to full speed as soon as they touch the stick.
Not very realistic but easier to play, I`m realy frustrated by such players stoping the evolution of the genre.

I know this is my point this is konamis way of giving the fans old the outdated generation of pes with all the negative feedback on there developement of trying to catch up with fifa and new generation by putting in a new engine with HUGE potential but at the say time saying "I TOLD YOU SO" to the ones that have now realise what they had and now its gone.

So now we have to either way for them to smooth this version out or play this version untill pes15 -_-" but tbh the game is still fun as ive learnt to adapt to it slightly.

Advance-Shot is Amazing for example i had another go at it in training and theyve fixed it and done it well the way i can chose where to shoot instead of beaming it straight at the goal keeper is just lovely for me tbh. and i always did say i miss the curve shots from pes13 so im getting a mixture of pes14 aspects blended in with pes13 which is all that bad.

If you are posting things to konami do press on and keep wiritng to them to re-establish the 360 axis physics but keep all the fixes they have done.

This game is not about learning to play the game on patience or improve on your dexterity, reflex skills or tactical mind.

Behind the facade of bull-shitting "simulation" there are cunning and sadistic scripting choreographic events to make it looking like You have the control but in fact You don't.

The AI of your team mates are deliberately programmed to fail. Do You realize that most of your conceded goal is always initiated when one of your AI team mate suddenly stops in his run, being pushed out of his path by an invisible scripted event, being carried backwards a quarter of the field by an opponent striker barging into him, by suddenly tumbling, falling over backwards when an opponent just at his vicinity (no collision needed).

Do you realize that your defenders are programmed to always tuck themselves behind the opponent strikers at any through pass, tipping tapping like drunken monkeys behind him and You can not do anything if this animation triggered, only at the moment when he strike that You have a semblance of control back. But it is already too late...

Your controlled player and your AI teammate or even the ball always WAITS, PAUSES, DELAYS its natural course, trajectory and response, until the game deems your opponent regain upper hand control, then the game will let your input into play or the game will re-trigger AI of your team mate.

The ball followed a 2 -tier hybrid of law in this game: Simulated physics dictated by game script and cheating mechanism.

The ball physics has been tinkered with to give it an unnatural helpful bounce to your opponent. It seems that the collision/momentum system just makes the ball drop/snap to the opposition, defying the laws of physics.

The ball has its own AI script built in, to speed up, slow down, delay its rolling speed, changing abruptly its trajectories, avoiding a player, seeking a player, constantly magnetized/ sticking to one's feet, the ball is playing the favorite throughout the game, just like the pre-programmed to be bias and corrupted referee.

The input of your game controller is delayed, ignored, altered at will. That's why You have no chance to response when pressured by your opponents. That's why You always have this constant frustrating infuriating feeling that You know a certain event was gonna happen but totally powerless to prevent it and this frustration is wearing you down as it gets on your nerve CONSTANTLY, annoyingly, arrogantly, blatantly.

This poor excuse of a "sport" game is designed by obnoxious sadists to be played by "patient" masochists, who may randomly enjoy it.

There is no other single game in the market designed with the passion to screw up human player as dedicatedly, fervently and BLATANTLY as this game when it destroying any shred of concept of sport fairness, game developer integrity, ethics and honesty.

It's a masterpiece in showing how arrogant game programmers can deceptively and maliciously screw up/disregard the human player efforts over and over again.

Your skill and experience is not appreciated and honored in this game. You have no trust in game mechanism because there is no integrity and consistency or logics in events unfolding in the match. There is no settled rule to live by in this game. It will screw You up whenever it wanted (it is programmed to be triggered at certain time or event in the match).

They say a giving someone a "sporting" chance, but human player has no chance in this poor excuse of a "sport simulation" game.

This is the Call Of Duty of soccer, with rubberbanding, scripted event built in game mechanism.

This is typical JAPANESE SADISTic game design philosophy PES METAL GEAR RISING: RE-VENGEANCE with bosses that stubbornly refuse to die and ridiculously powerful and when you play the game with all your fingers aching, bleeding and catching yourself swearing, cussing...You ask yourself a question if You are a masochist or not.

You should not invest your sporty passion and enthusiasm, your emotional energy, your mental well-being into this treacherous travesty of entertainment.

omg. You described what I'm feeling perfectly. Every pes has had a degree of the com always winning the ball but it was a lot more subtle. You can literally watch your players turn and run from the ball as it comes to them. I've played far inferior teams in the same scenario and lost every single time having far superior stats yet they score every shot and I score none.
What I don't understand is the point of player stats I've had players like messi on red form get chased down my mediocre defenders and brushed aside and ive had juan play a whole game and never win a header against a player whose not even good in the air so why have stats of they are completely ignored?
The way the games are scripted is so apparent soon as you kick off for the second half my team feel like they've run a marathon.
Also com keepers are so good, its as if they have a magnetic field around them for the ball, I've missed countless open goals because my player has hit to where the keeper is a problem which used occur about 4 years ago.

I haven't played the game in a while, however, last night i downloaded the new data pack and patch and played 4 games in single player ML....

Usually, I would get 4-5 goals/game on superstar level, however, in the 4 games I've played so far I have yet to score. The AI usually gets about 2-3 shots a game and converts 2/3.

Does anyone understand the shooting mechanics?

I feel like after the patch the game has completely changed and I am playing a new game.

Agreed it's definitely got harder but I'm enjoying the challenge.

I would recommend having a play in training mode. I did this yesterday and really started to get handle on dribbling and shooting (which needs to be manual to keep shots low).

I don`t think they ignore the stats, but that doesn`t mean that a player with better stats automatically wins every situation. You still have to use him right, for example its harder to run with a ball than without, so defenders have a good chance to catch up. If you have room an double tap the sprint button you will go faster and a Ronaldo can be very hard to catch using that and scoring with him is much easier with him too.
For shooting at the goal I would use the advanced shooting so when you hit the goalkeeper its you own fault. I used to hit the goalkeeper too in the beginning because when you run for the goal you usually press forward on the stick but now you have to press the stick in the right dircetion after you pressed the shoot button. Try aiming low by pressing back and up or down on the stick. Also using RT(R2) while in the box also helps.

On a site note I delated all my pro evo data and now playing version 1.00 and think it still feels better than the new one. Does anybody know a way to go back to the version befor the last patch? I want my data packs back.:crymore:

Yes i already mentioned using advance shot is the only way to shoot without smacking the ball at the keeper in most situations or using manual shot with the arrow guidance and gork is right its all about how you use a player with his attributes, What i would suggest is using a 4-4-2 now the game has changed you cant compact the midfield as much anymore because the way you get closed down and pressed on the ball so quickly, so try spreading your players out more and using the wings.

Note: Gork if you are going to recommend advance shot to people dont say "you recommended it" or "I would use" you wasnt even using it until 3days ago, something ive told you to try out.

A resounding YES. This is the patch that saves Winning Eleven 2014. This is a real football simulation, no longer arcade-y 2013. I personally think this is the best WE/PES ever!

Even I faces defeat with a smile. This is how good the game has become.

I can't wait to see how WE/PES 2015 will turn out on next gen machine.

yes you are right it is the best pes ever, but even this version needs fixing!

I have a feeling all PES15 will be is PES14 with the smooth animations they took out without the lag and they will call it a new game xD!

Agree with this the new version is excellent. Credit to Konami who could have just written off 14 and moved onto Next Gen. I guess they are using 14 now to refine the game in readiness for that.

I do agree with some that shooting is a little overpowered now.

PES 15 16 17 and possibly 18 and beyond will be the same on both the new gen and last gen. ps4 /xbox one versions will just look a little better than what we have on ps3/360

they will not just ditch last gen and move onto the new gen with a totally Different game when it took them all these years to finally get it right on the ps3/360. last gen will be supported for many years to come and you can only imagine they will put out the same game on both generations.

they tried ditching the ps2 versions of the game for a different game when last gen 1st launched and we all know what happened next.............. it took from 2007 to 2014 to finally get the series back up to scratch

What are you taking about? That wasn`t me and even if it would have been me, should I say "We recommend" or "PEStyles recommends", sounds a bit strange don`t you think?

For the next PES on PS4 if its a version of PES14 with the AI after the patch and the animations/feeling befor the patch and smooth running like PEStyles said, I would be happy. The graphics will surely improve a bit.
If it plays like after the patch I will skip.
Again does someone knows a way to patch the xbox version back to like it was before the last patch?

Levels

Interesting all your comments boys, especially on shooting.
My comment is if you want to play regular level (or whatever) it should be regular, The computer teams seem to play top player level against you so what is the point of having levels in the game. Computer gks make fantastic saves but yours seem to watch it go in at times.
You cant get near opp defenders they seem to suck it away from you rarely tackle.
And as said by someone else donkey defenders cant get near the likes of Lennon or Walcott in real life but zip past them in this game,
Having said all this i will always play pro evo.

I just played another 3-4 games and managed to score about 6 goals in total. However, i think 3 of them were from rebounds.......I went 3-1-0 in those games

One thing I noticed is speed is not much an advantage with the new patch nor is agility/spin move... I still didn't adapt to the shooting well.

I feel that the new patch forces you to actually play gk since your will always let in easy goals...

I would enjoy the new patch more if I had the time to play it alot, which I don't, however, I do miss playing 4-3-3 barca and bursting through the middle or the sides via spin and sprint.

When you sprint let go and press it again to utilize your explosive power you can also spin even fast than before if you let go of sprint and spin the analog in a 180 or 360 motion so long as you let go of sprint.

Play Teamplay lobby, 11v11 find rooms with good players who pass and only have 5-A-side so 5v5 or something you will realise how to play the game just playing in that mode.

more than 75% of the time you must trap not like before where you could just hold sprint. its essential now R2 as soon as you recieve it then either hold it and use the close dribble to drag it away from the tight marker let go then sprint you will lose a defender easy, the game forces you todo short quick passing now too so if you dont trap the ball youll take a heavy touch into the pressing opposition, through ball is affective in a diagonal direction so from the wings or centre mid into the wings lob through ball still works but it must be timed EXACTLY as your runner meets the defender, if you do it before the defender reads it if you do it after well you know thats offside unless ur lucky.

I am loving this new version so much.

Had my best ever game earlier playing as Villa vs Southampton. Finished 1 - 0 but was real battle, I pressed them all around the park. Agbonlahor was immense, anyone thinking speed burst is useless try playing with him. Also hit incredible half volley with Benteke from a tight angle that thundered off crossbar.

I still don`t like it. Players fall way to easy know, like they just learned to walk. I had one (longer) match and had 3 fouls were my player slid to pass the ball and hit the opponent standing behind him with his head, the opponent player fall and got the free kick.
