Difference in gameplay pes5 vs pes6

What I really mean is if we´re gonna notice any difference at all between pes 5 and pes 6 in gameplay? Other than a slight difference in speed and maybe some new animations? You guys understand what I mean? Just dont hope it will be like pes5 but with updated rosters... Pardon my poor english

I purchased the latest PSW mag which clips of PES6 and it looked immense.
The gameplay looks very fluent and the animations are spot on, it is a little quicker though i'll say again very fluent looking.;)

PES6 on PS2 will be slower overall that PES5 onb PS2. PES$ was far too fast, PES5 was too fast but better and now PES6 will be even better in pace. If you watch a real premiership game, its not about every player running round like a headless chicken.

There's a difference in fluency and pace. If you want to run around like a headless chicken you can, but after watching the demos you can also play a slow passing game!

Yeah, thats true but, on PES5 you could play fast blind passes and work it up the field far too fast. If you just keep hammering x then eventually, with only minimul work in terms of directing the pass, you would get near to the goal and you could have a shot. The passes were too fast, players movements and turns and acceleration was too fast. I think the best soloution would be to add the speed bar that PES1? or PES2? that let you change the pace of the gameplay. That was a really good feature. Obviously this could not be used in the online play unless it ws on the set-up and the host choose the setting.

7ames - agree with you! in pes5 it is way to easy just keep pressing X and work your way up the field! All my questions concern the PS2 version. Do not care about 360...

I understand where your coming from, though the footage i was looking at in PSW issue 86 some of the gameplay was done at walking pace with slow build up play. All we can do is wait and see to be honest ( im sure they wont let us down );)

Yeah, i have a PS2 so all my answers relate to PS2. In My opinion, which is shared by lots of others, 'Seabass' prefers the PS2 platform.

With regards to gameplay again. If the build up is done at walking pace, that sounds great. With PES5 online, there are a number of set 'definate' goals. Pass it quickly to the wing, pass it across - goal (i call it the dirt goal), and then i seem to score a lot of the same goal -> get it in midfield, and because i have a 'normal' formation - 4-4-2 and not a 2-4-4, all i do is press triangle and one of my forwards is clean through. I would like to see more skill involved in breaking down defences and i think slowing the pace would help. Cause the pace is fast, defenders get caught out easily. My biggest frustration is having 3 world class defenders man marking one player when the dirt goal pass is used, and leaving another to tap towards the keepers arms, only for the keeper to dive to a corner and leave an open goal and thusly a goal is scored.

The AI seems to have improved greatly, defenders pushing forwards wide etc. There also didn't seem to be those straggling defenders dissapearing and leaving almighty holes at the back.

How about difference in pace between players, e.g the great but not so fast Sami Hyypiä tracking down Henry when running towards the goal???

hey guys I dunno if this bothers you about PES5, but don't you think the model who makes all the players, which my guess is Nakamura for PES6, is not a professional in the way he shoots the ball, or crosses it... have you seen roberto carlos go for shooting the ball, that's not how his legs move after shooting the ball, it's so clumsy it's so annoying... and when a player is not sprinting and shoots a very close ball, he shoots with his right foot the his left leg follows after the ball is already shot, what is that?
and the with all the crosses and shooting, the player doesn't get enough range or effort in his shooting leg... and crossing the ball from the flanks, in prefessional football, is always done by the inside of the foot (medial arch) in PES5, it happens rarely, most of the time the cross is by dorsum of the foot...
I think all those clumsy moves should disappear as the player's attributes get better, like balance and crossing abilities and shooting abilities, as they get better all those flaws should disappear, coz we're talking about real life proffesional players here, well it annoys me, well used to consider zizo retired, how clumsy those moves made Zidane, when he is the all time most elegant player, alot of players are like that too, like Etoo, Ronaldinho, C. Ronaldo, Van Nistelrooy... they're inspiring players coz they position their selves and trained to play football perfectly not clumsily... the game should even be a little exxaggerated in their perfect abilities, coz after all you wanna enjoy the game, not get frustrated...
Otherwise the game is perfect, hehe :D

I played we9 and we10, I cant say there there were alot of changes. But the game play has improved alot. For example, in we10 the defenders are positioned correctly and if you use good tactics and play the right way you can close down your area pretty well and hang on to a 1 goal lead unlike we9. I think if konami focuses on technical stuff which are more concerned with football not graphics, shirts and player's faces, we10 or pes6 or whatever will be a much more better and a fun game to play. I look forward to buying pes6 on the 360 I hope it becomes an improved we10 version.
