i played pes2010 on regular difficuly, which was nice as i had to wrok hard, just not too hard.
on pes2011 i have been playing on amateur difficulty and i have been winning most games too easily, so i upped the difficulty to regular and the game just seems near impossible, i can hardly get a shot on goal and i am always fighting to get possession and once i get it i more often than not loose possesion as every team seems to play very pressing style.
any tips guys

pass the ball around only too players that you have a clear pass path to them.
even if the only free player is the keeper, pass it to him. now just keep the ball at your players' feet, and try moving the play slowly towards the opposition side. this way, you are always in control of the game, even if you are not creating chances- you are dominating the game.

try this system for a few matches, and after you mastered the "art" of passing (always look for a free/ uncovered player to pass to), you are ready for the goals.

now that you know how to keep the ball at your side and moving upwards, you need to make 2 touch passes (controlling the ball and passing it) outside the opponents box, then you need to have a sharp eye and immediatly when you see a forward making a move towards goal- deliver a deadly pass (through ball) and hopefully he'll reach it and net the ball.

to sum it up:
1. holding the ball.
2. moving up slowly.
3. short passes near the box.
4. through ball.
5. hopefully a lethal finish :)

Similar to me, except im not quite as good :)

I started this year on top player and I was winning against the lesser teams but superior teams it was hard going, when I did win it was painful to play, so I dropped to regular and will only up the level again once im comfortably beating everyone. Im still to crap at the new passing and tweaked shooting to play above regular atm.

How about this.. We started Master League with a friend, original players. Top Player all the way, no compromises ;) We play spanish league, On Copa del rey we're on semi-finals now. Next opponent Barcelona. Last we beaten Valencia and Athletic Bilbao. Bilbao was really easy on their second match against us, almost laconic.

But on D2 League we're struggling as opponents are holding the ball so much, and rarely attacking. Their defence is very hard to break through with Gutierrez & CO :D

I'm wondering can patches or option files make game easier? Shouldn't do I guess.

I always play the first few games on regular and then up it to Top Player when I'm used to the gameplay. This years very different!

I've played 4 Champions League campaigns on Professional difficulty so far and the best I've done is the Semi-finals with AC Milan.

What I love though is the AI isn't frustrating this year and doesn't ping the ball about like a rocket all the time. They actually have quite a lot of variety in their play.

It's a real challenge this year but I'm loving every minute of it! :)

Top Player actually isn't that hard. The main thing is to keep up the pressure against the CPU, both defensively and going forward, for the full 90 minutes and they will make mistakes along the way. Apart from that I echo keeping the ball and feeling comfortable in possession before thinking about scoring them goals. If you're not comfortable in possession then the CPU will trample all over you. Just like the commentators have said on this game for years now 'if your opponent doesn't have the ball, they can't score' (or something like that...).

This is true, I find it harder to beat teams that sit behind the ball for 90mins than ones that attack me. I have had many a 0-0 or 1-0 wins still won the league though and up to the premier league.

Top Player isn't too easy for everyone? The CPU barely attacks!

I played 24 league games with Juve, won 22, draw 2, considered 6 goals on the hardest difficulty, I believe its called TOP PLAYER. The game vs CPU is way too easy. Maybe its just 13 years of experience, lol.

I have been playing only in Top player for the last 4-5 years and this one is much harder, i barely score goals and most of the games end 0-0, 1-0 or 0-1, sucks
The computer barely attacks but its very hard to score

I got the game 2 days ago, may have to practice more

seriously mate if you wanna get better at playing the cpu then just jump right on Top Player, use a big team play master league for a couple of seasons. After about half maybe a whole season you will be finding it easy and then will be able to use lesser teams
