Difficulty stars (xbox)

I guess that this has been discussed before but I couldn’t find a satisfying answer for the Xbox.
I tried about everything when playing the game, (yes I am not a pro) but even for a not so good player the game should be satisfying. (dun you think)
For me it does not matter on what level I play 1 star or 5 star. (strangely enough I find 3 star the most difficult) But I can’t seem to score or even get a reasonable change a shot on goal.
All… my games I play end in a 0-0 (and there is hardly an exception that I lose a game with 1-0)
Long passes dun seem to split the defence in two but are intercepted, dashes are incredibly hard and thru balls dun seem to get to my strikers.
DUDES and DUDETTES, what am I doing wrong here? Please dun say practice more cause after 20 – 30 matches ending in 0-0 there dun seem to be progress in my practice.
Are there more peeps having props to score. And what on earth is the difference in the star difficulty. Cause I am lost with that… to me there is no difference.
So, tell me should I make dashes on the side of the pitch or thy thru the middle?
Whenever I make a perfect cross ball, my striker seem the be the star in the fuckupshow by heading the to moon. He never seems to be able the head down!!

there aint much different between 3 and 5 stars just the comp defence is better you need to have a really paitent build up using the midfield for passes to each other and when the com defence comes forf the ball pass it around them and you will get scoring chances and i find using the wings very good depends on the formation you use aswell

I feel your pain. PES5 demands a LOT of patience. I find the through-ball passes almost useless; to witness interception after interception almost bring tears to my eyes. Even when I'm on the counter attack with 3 against 1 my players always either pass the ball to the D, behind my strikers, to the goalie, to goal kick - ANYWHERE but to the space where any decent football player would pass the ball in real life! I know it's all virtual but it worked (I know - TOO) well in PES4, at least SOME passes should get through imo??
That said, I don't dislike this game - I love it and I'm hooked. As mentioned, it's all about patience and passing the ball around til you get that opportunity to strike. If you do manage to take the lead, the match will open up in a counter attack feast, highly increasing your chances of successful attacking play

Stick with it.

The problem a lot of people seem to be having (and I am one of those on occasion), is that they played so much PES4 that they still keep trying to do things they got away with on that game in PES5. I am playing on 6*. A lot of games end 0-0, but just as often I, or the computer, win 1-0. Often when I go a goal down I find myself get desperate and try to play the PES4 way and just hit thoughtless through balls, safe in the knowledge that a certain % will get through. They won't! DON'T DO THIS! Consider the passes, look at the radar....see who is in space....through balls can work as well. It is all about passing as the forward make his run to beat the defence. Othe than that, you can use through ball to good effect if you play it to a forward with only 1 defender on him and run around him(ok, this often takes you away from goal but you can cut back and pass in or cross into the box if you are too wide).

I don't always play well. Had my biggest win last night though. Spain 5-0 Wales on 6*. It is important to note I am not saying this to brag, since there is a reasonable chance I won't score the next time I play. I am going to detail the way I scored, so that you might have an idea of the things you can try(they don't work everytime, but nothing does on this great game).

GOAL 1- Jaoquin has ball at edge of box, cuts back suddenly towards byline to get free from marker and swings ball in for Salgado to net on volley.

GOAL 2- Jaoquin coming up left with defenders in wake.Though marked, Fernando Torres is between the defenders and ball, so play a through ball in from wing. As Torres is marked and will be closed down if I don't hit first time shot...keeper saves but Luis Garcia sweeps home on the rebound.

Goal 3- Salgado let into space up the wing by Xavi...room to cross(ala PES4 slightly this one) and the cross sees Jaoquin take the ball down and stretch to knock the ball into the roof of the net just before the defender makes contact and clears the ball.

Goal 4- Raul is on edge of box.... passed ball square to just inside the D. De la Pena shoots first time and scores....this may sound like a PES4 move also and it is, just that the defenders were far tighter and no room for error or to take a touch before shooting.

Goal 5- Was a penalty. Twisting and turning in the box to make space honestly, rather than trying to win a pen and you might get one.

Anyway, I hope those description show that there are a good few things you can try, but above all patience and think about what you will do next when you have the ball.

On PES 4 you could score 10-0 on a 1*. I know that, that isn't fun playing but sometimes it is good to let the frustration of.
I am addicted to PES 5 although I can't seem to win except for penalties shoot out. The Game feel so real. But the defence pressure with (green) always ending in a free kick for the opponent kinda sucks.
What I do find strange is that what game I play, with what team what so ever I never have the feeling I am going to loose big time… the other end is that I also never have the feeling I am going crush the opponent with a big blast.
PES 5 caught me and I will not let go… although I know it is going to frustrate me a lot more.
