Disaster Strikes! Solution at hand?

Yesterday, the most terrible fate imaginable bestowed itself upon me. My dear PS2 refused to read and play my beloved PES5!! I attempted to seek refuge in GTA: San Andreas and Lego Stars, but it was not to be, as the curse had appeared to spread itself to those such games.
I would now be very appreciative to any members of the forum who could suggest any PES-related alternatives to get me through this short (i hope!) respite.

Many Thanks!!

True...however, that requires money, which at the moment my wallet and bank account appear to be allergic to.

Any non-cash-using alternatives?

Maybe see if you can take your ps2 to a shop and see if they know what the problem is, maybe the laser in the ps2 just needs cleaning

Damn PS2 mine did the same, so I got evo for PC - but you should just get it repaired if it won't read other discs.

mate this happens to my old ps2 quite a lot, probably it needs a good clean, and maybe even a new laser...wont cost that much if you know where to look :)

Super, does anyone know if those discs you can buy for cleaning your PS2 actually work?

I had the same problem. The laser disc cleaners didn't work for me so I decided to open it up and clean it myself. Failing that, I just sent it in to my local tv shop for repair and one day later it was fixed. :)
