That the reason there is only 3 licensed songs, hardly any stadiums, no player on the front cover for the first time in 10 years, and less licencing in general than previous games is because Konami have had their budget cut?

Think about, it's only logical. Their sales have plummeted for the last 5 years or so, so it only makes financial sense to cut back spending on a product that doesn't make as much money as it used too.

How else do you explain them going from 20 or so songs in 2010, to 7 in 2013 and now 3 in 2014?

they rushed the game, putting songs in a game isn't expensive because the songwriters get more from it, it offers them exposure, how many songs that you never heard of that you saw on pes have you heard on the radio etc? I must have heard a few of them on XFM here in England after they were given exposure by PES. Konami doesn't just make one game you know, they get profits from everywhere else and managed to make a game 10x better than FIFA with 1/10 of their budget back in the day... no excuses for this mess, i have downloaded free games from psn that are better than pes 2014... geez just get some up comming bands that make good music to have there songs on there for free... it's not difficult, and CR7 is still the face of PES even if he isn't on the cover, so they can't be that broke.

personally i dont really care about music, i turn it off , almost in every game iv played. except for Mafia...

About stadiums.. i think its important to have variaty, special ones with no shadows, but to have them official/licienced.. to me its at the same height as having official boots used in the game my ronaldo.

I know man, thats what makes it so bad, and as for the CR7, I can't help but think they conned us with this one, made as much money as they can off us because they know we are loyal, just so they can double budget for next gen... But this game is so bad, it may well backfire on them.... I know even more people now that are going to Fifa... crying shame

I think its largely due to the budget alright, but not necessarily a cut one. Yes, they do make profits from other games but a game has to pay for itself otherwise its bad business. Couple into the equation the whole engine is a massive overhaul and that they probably don't have the budget to employ enough people like EA to pull it off properly in the time they've had. Next year should be a massive improvement overall because the core of the engine is done. Just needs to be tweaked now, whether you think greatly or not, as most of the donkey work is done.

I still expect them to release big patches for this yet though.

I think they do have the budget, if you look at their website for pes, they have hundreds of jobs up for grabs, maybe they have just lost loads of staff? I personally don't think it's a budget cut though because all through the build up they were talking about trying to get more licenses only for FIFA to out bid them for more, surely this would free up money to put into other areas of the game... truth be told, we simply do not know what is going on until someone from Konami comes out and tells us I hope you are right about the patches though, it needs them. Next years game will either be the greatest game on earth or the final nail in the coffin... It's what they call squeeky bum time at Konami and pes.

I think Konami should concentrate on international football as they could buy a lot of licenses for them and maybe get some competitions licensed as pes has a international football feeling where FIFA has a club football feeling

I would let FIFA have club licensing and PES international football

KONAMI are not what they used to be no doubt. Economy is tough and every dollar counts. But, in the recent interviews even Seabass himself said. They are targeting older players. Players that played this game in PS2 era. And that is EVIDENT with pes 14 gameplay.

Took me ages to find the colour create as well! On PS3 you have to go to one of the created colour slots, at which point triangle is available to click. Click it and the create colour window pops up.
