I think Konamis plan was just to finally be able to milk this generation with DLC this time by excluding stuff since its the last PES where it will peak sales wise but due to alot of negativity from fans it looks like that plan might have been shot down.
Anyway Konami has always been a really bizarre company, they remove convenient stuff and add new inconvenient with each game , bring back something we wanted back and remove something we didnt want to go away.
Some retarded choices:
1. Removing the way to make your own cup and home/away matches choice in cups. Personally i loved the old PES games by playing with national teams and having a home/away match cup format extended my tournaments as i enjoyed playing with all the national teams atleast once, but Konami robbed that from me.
2. Forgot this point at time of writing was something really important lol
3. I cant believe the commentary line "the keepers got it" is still there after 4-5 games. I dont know if anyone has noticed it but it keeps coming up randomly at times when theres some play going on at the opponents goal line/side line, ie far away from the keepers. This line has been there for nopw 4 games atleast lol.
4. Limited Edit modes/Removed editor modes/Default game faces look like crap (ie. the classic bald heads that usually haunts the FIFA games)
5. Stats that are renamed/changed. Some of this stuff just boggles my mind, do Konami think theyve made some brilliant choices by renaming stat names to stuff that is neither common in other football games nor in manager games. I mean Defensive prowess and ball winning which one of these classify as the plain and simple "Tackling" ? what happened to Free kick accucary now its Place Kicking
6. Computer scores on 90% of its freekicks in most of the the post PES 6 games
7. In PES 2014 only Long shots outside the box feels somewhat satisfying, tap ins and shots/headers in the box feel automated and have no "oomph" its like theres 2 seperate shooting systems in the game, one from the area outside the box and the one in the box which seems like Fifas. I never thought Konami could mess up the satisfaction of shots from the older games but they did even that. Body/ball collision is still a mess and random at times, bizarre player run choices and action towards loose balls etc.
