just thought id say you dont need a chipped PS2 or swap magic to play WE9, you can use a hard disk and a pc to do it perfectly legally and without tampering with your ps2. id noticed a few people thought without chips or whatever you couldnt play it but you can. so there you go

also this method means you can keep up to date and use the patched versions of the game with all the real kits and stuff, again, all totally legally. so even when PES5 comes out you can play it with real kits for every team.

NO

To play a game from a different region or a copied/backup/patched game you need a chipped console or the swap magic disks.

right what you need is

1. a network adapter for the ps2, like the one you use to play online, this also acts as an attachment for a hard drive, hence the 'HDD' written on it. the hard disk goes into the hole in the back of the ps2 that the adapter goes over (slimeline ps2's dont have this, though you can apparently hook up a hard disk using usb, i dont know how.)

2. a hard disk, obviously, anything over 20 gigs works.

3. you need to buy a hdloader dvd which will let you load games off your HDD, youll find these at websites like this one, http://www.consolegadgets4u.com/, which also sells packages including all the bits youll need

4. an iso image of winning eleven 9.

5. a pc with the iso on it

6. a program on your pc which will transfer the iso image on to your ps2 HDD, such as winhIIp.

right once youve used a program to get an iso image of your origonal WE9 dvd, which youve obviously bought from some online store or something, attach the HDD to your pc, i do so using the ide, then open winhIIP select your ps2 HDD go to add image and select the WE9 image, once this is done remove your HDD put it in your ps2 using the network adapter put in the HDloader DVD and hey presto. this will also work for patched versions. the ps2 reads the loader dvd not the game iso, so a UK ps2 will play japanese and american games this way. and patched games, sweet.

cool, its really not too hard and shouldnt be too expensive, but i guess its not for everyone. its pretty cool being able to take my ps2 round to my mates house with like 10/15 games on it and not have to carry around loads of dvds and stuff.
