You can just use those players to create a different player not already in the game, I do this every year.

Last year it asked dou you want to use duplicate players. No, and there's no fake Modric etc.

No, every other year the dlc only resets transfers & nationalities, every other change will remain intact. I expect it to be the same this year.

I think it still did for the fake NT players, not sure though as I used team import/export to fix my teams after each DLC.
