Effectiveness of manual through chip vs manual long ball

I am playing on 1 bar assistance and i cant decide which one to use to place accurate balls in behind the defence, the manual through chip(L2+L1+triangle) or the manual long pass(L2+circle). Its so hard to gauge the passing power and direction as well, coupled with the different passing accuracy and speed of players. Any tips on it?

I have the same problem, this issue needs to e addressed promptly.

When I cross manually, the difference between a terribly under hit pass or one that ends up in the stands is far too slim. If I go halfway up the power bar, the ball barely moves, but if I go 3 quarters up, the ball ends up going out for a throw in.

The power bar needs to be adjusted so that the varying distance between passes in relation to power applied is more consistent and realistic.
