EPL Team Styles

Hello everyone. I havent posted on here for a while because i actually got rid of the game a long time ago but have just bought it again after trying to sit through fifa10 matches for months  .....made me realise just how good pro is compared to it!

Anyway to the point....

I have been scouring the forums on like every pes site and google, there doesnt seem to be a thread where people have posted team slider settings that is reminiscent of real life. E.g. Pro Evo Chelsea playing like real-life Chelsea.

I found one thread which contained only Chelsea's and to be honest, it was awesome!! BluChampion i think his name was, thankyou! Now when i play as Chelsea they are disciplined and organised, really good to use.

I was wondering if anyone else had settings for each EPL team so they were like their real life counterparts, Arsenal with their short-passing and never-crossing mentality etc etc. I have just found that every team plays the same really, no individuality!

Any help would be lovely :)

Hey mate, I would love to find a thread that points slider settings for teams individually, making them play more real... but I'm afraid we will have to do it by ourselves and then exchange experiences... :(

Ah thats lame! I would have thought someone who plays FM or something would have done something like this already to be honest...

This is the kinda thing im looking for, its detailed and he knows what hes talking about....

Let's talk tactics here. For each and every team, Konami have set tactical sliders in different ways. That's why we have different oppositions playing in different styles. Are these opponents playing the right style? I mean, does Chelsea play like Chelsea? Are the tactical slider set ups correct? That's the whole topic of this thread.

For instance, Chelsea don't attack you with speed (not referring to counterattacks). They take their time, build up their play, get the players in the desired spots and then create an attack. And, they don't congest the pitch. Their attacks are not compact. They use the width of the pitch. While they are in possession, they don't congest the ball carrier. They are a very organised team and particular about roles. They deliver a lot of crosses. In defence, they do play high up. When they are not in possession, they put a lot of pressure on the opposition. They are very compact in defence cutting down the options for the passing lanes.

As many have noted, the tactical sliders, though have markers from 0 to 100, there seems to be only three possibilities (0-33, 34-66, 67-99) in each slider. I'm still going ahead with the belief that there is a difference between, say 10 and 20, instead of just bucketing them under the 'below 33' category.

I'd put the Chelsea sliders this way:

Player Support - 40: When a Chelsea player has the ball, you don't see the rest of the players running ahead of him. That's because Chelsea's build up is slow (not referring to counterattacks). If you have players who can hold up the ball, even with a 50 slider, you'll have players for good attacking moves.

Support Range - 20: This means players would generally be spread wide across the pitch. This doesn't quite mean that the would attack from the flanks. It's just that the players would be distributed across the width of the pitch. Anyway, Chelsea are not a close-range short passing
team.

Position Switch - 0: When this is set to a low number, even if a player goes out of his position in an attack, he'd come back to his position as soon as possible, without waiting for the ball to go out of play. He will not continue being out of position too long. I think this value would just suit Chelsea.

Attacking Style - 10: With the full backs set up as either side backs or wing backs, Chelsea do attack from the wings primarily. You'd expect that good amount of their attacks would come from the sides than through the centre.

Pressing - 99: Chelsea presses their opponents very heavily. They just don't allow you anytime on the ball. They come after you at any distance and try to dispossess you early enough.

Defensive line - 80: Chelsea's defence plays quite up the pitch. With the full backs mostly in the attacking half of the pitch, the centre backs also play up. They have players like Essien and Ballack who are very good at preventing attacks quite early with their timely tackles and fouls.

Compactness - 30: Chelsea maintain the formation and the organisation very well. As a team they do not get closer to the opponent ball carrier because they don't have to. The players closer to the opponent will do pressurising while the rest of the team can maintain the shape.

Defensive Strategy - 0: Line defence. I think this is what Chelsea does.

What would you say about Chelsea's tactical sliders considering their playing style? Let's discuss that here, while we can have new threads created for other teams. People who have been watching those teams every week would be best suited to provide the numbers. Shall we talk Chelsea here?

So im hoping to put together the styles for the EPL teams like the one by bluechampion :)

Ive seen in other posts around that they are setting all the team styles in a global way, but surely that means everyone is going to be playing the same still? Im hoping to tailor the styles so that everyone plays like they should.

Will seperate the styles by league position, so:

There will be a style for the "top 3", a style for the "race for 4th spot" teams, style for the "mid-table" teams and a style for the "relegation battlers"!

Anyone want to help? :)

Just done Arsenal and Man Utd as seperate ones. Obviously as they are the top teams, they have different playing styles which no-one else really has so here they are!

Arsenal
Player Support - 70 An attacking side while not OTT
Support Range - 99 The short-passing specialists really arent they!
Position Switch - 0 Im not too sure about this, any ideas?
Attacking Style - 99 Always fall short for attacking through the middle
Pressing - 90 Defensively active
Defensive Line - 80 Keep a high line and dictate the play
Compactness - 30 Stick to their positions and not dragged in
Defensive Strategy - 0 Line Defence

Man Utd
Player Support - 60 Good in attack as well as defence
Support Range - 20 Distributed well across the pitch
Position Switch - 0 Again, not too sure
Attacking Style - 20 Mainly use Giggs and Valencia to attack
Pressing - 90 Defensively active
Defensive Line - 80 Keep a high line and dictate the play
Compactness - 30 Stick to their positions and not dragged in
Defensive Strategy - 0 Line Defence

Any comments would be loverly :)

Position Switch - 35 Not quite as structured as the top 3
Attacking Style - 20 Use the wide players to good effect
Pressing - 70 Good in defence
Defensive Line - 70 Still good in defence

Fulham
Birmingham
Stoke
Blackburn

Player Support - 50 Not particularly defensive or attacking
Support Range - 50 Basic support
Position Switch - 50 Not amazing flair nor strict positional play
Attacking Style - 40 More varied in who they use
Pressing - 50 Some pressing
Defensive Line - 60 Better than average defence
Compactness - 60 More inclined to lose shape
Defensive Strategy - 0 Line Defence

And finally here is the style for the "relegation battlers" which are:

West Ham
Sunderland
Wigan
Wolves
Hull
Bolton
Burnley
Portsmouth

Player Support - 90 Get bodies forward to score, attack is the best form of defence for these guys
Support Range - 70 Need to stick together
Position Switch - 70 No strict structure
Attacking Style - 50 Basic attacking with everyone involved
Pressing - 20 Bad stamina so can only defend when necessary
Defensive Line - 30 Deep defence so defending is easier but huge gaps infront of the defence
Compactness - 80 Chases after the ball and leaves gaps wide
Defensive Strategy - 0 Line Defence

Hmm to be honest i dont really know the Spanish League that well. I only see Barca and Real Madrid in highlights and stuff. All i know is that La Liga teams have much more flair and are probably much more attacking. I will look into it :)

Hi jonny great idea for a thread mate just wish id have come to this site and seen this thread before the african nations or i might have been able to contribute with some NT styles before the world cup.

im gonna give your styles a try in my ML i find playing against the style rather than with gives a better idea of how right or wrong they are so once ive come up against a few ill let you know.

if they work mate ill include them in my next OF update so ill credit them to you obviously!

keep up the good man when i break from editing/creating i may add a few up as ive had a play with the new system when making CCC teams and CL teams and they seem pretty good...
