How do you explain Free Roaming card then? If you're saying they did a bad job at adding Speed Merchants then in real life people stick to their position. I think what you're saying is that Speed Merchants are too fast when their make 45 degree turns, but if you have to be so pinpoint about how a player moves with the ball. At the given form arrows, they are far from what you are saying.

In more detail, they're giving Speed Merchants to those who should have this ability.

Speed Merchantis only for a player who can turn quickly. I don't sure Villa should has this card.

My point is, there is no differences if people have speed merchants since player with speed merchants are really that. On the other hand, free roaming takes the player out of position yet they dont get punish since others will fill their role. If you think about it, the AI makes all the decision if they never included speed merchants.

I'm sorry but I still don't understand the point you're trying to get across, either way you cannot deny that a player with speed merchant is a lot better at dribbling than players with better stats, JUST because he is a speed merchant. My point is,dibbling ability should be reflected in the stats. And lets be honest, if they weren't that much easier to cheese with you think I'd see literally 99% of the teams playing with more than 1 speed merchants up front?

I don't see Arshavin running past defenders everytime he has the ball or turining 45 degrees everytime, even in his half of the field. It's not fair if players like Iniesta or Hulk can't turn as efficiently like Rosnin or Mphela as they can sometimes.Also, physically proven, it is impossible to keep the same velocity when turning so this also contradicts your point. Another point is players don't keep the ball close to himself when they turn unlike the game - david villa turns a lot but the ball doesn't be as close to his body in real life wheras in PES, he turns with the ball so close to himself making defenders impossible to stop him.


Also, speed merchant will be adjusted a lot in the next patch so that is good new to us

great news indeed, i hope they nerf them so much that its not even as effective as players without speed merchants, then I'd like to see what these cheesers can do lol.

speed merchants can be stopped. High line; instead of trying to tackle the player, cut the supply to him. The game does allow you to do this if you set your team up properly and apply the rules of proper football. Number one to that rule - always pass the way you are facing!

Finally mastered defending as a unit; currently on a run of 1 loss in 19 against these barca / real players!

I bit him 3-2 though, good feeling.
My forward are aall about strength (Rooney and Drogba). I guess strenght is better than speed merchantism.

Seriously though, I pity the person who had a team like that lol.

Gents, is this not the sorts of argument used against teams like Stoke etc who play negative tactics but get results? It shows that the people who use speed merchants are maybe not as good at the game, but when everyone has them it rather levels things back up again? My main issue is one also mentioned here, that some of the players such as Mphela and Barretto are so cheap that everyone can get them without having to work too hard, surely as more people bought them their price should have risen faster? Personally I'm really enjoying the contracts and fatigue coming into it but this is just the second year of the MLO, there are still things to be ironed out but I still love playing it- anyone woud think we're all being forced to play and it's torture the way we get on here sometimes!

Enjoy the game, sometimes you will get some guy running through your teams with a speed merchant and you'll be raging just like Spurs were today against Stoke- the best player doesn't always win, but who'll end up higher at the end of the season? that's more important! :innocent:

lol marcus i've played a couple where the guy had all speed merchant players except for his center backs and keeper.
I know they can be stopped and I'm pretty decent at stopping them. I'm not complaining because they beat me, just doing so simply because it is unrealistically overpowered and most of the people i play online that has these players are cheesers.
