Exp Pts Question

So I'll 'fess up. Im so impatient that I just want my player to develop so I can play for a team like Man U, Barca, Real Madrid, etc. and be my Nat team's star. So it def makes me want to skip some matches. How is it that every time you select "skip match" it says: "Note: You will not gain exp pts." and then after every few games it shows me gaining exp?

I've sort of come up with an idea (let me know if its right or not): Your player grows according to his Development Sheet regardless if you play games or not. If you play poorly he won't grow as much. If you play past expectations he will grow more than his DS says.

Which leads to my real question...is it ABSOLUTELY neccesary to play every SINGLE match to make your player a good one?

I have to say I've always thought that if you skip games, you NEVER get experience. This was certainly how it was last year, I did what you did with my 3rd player and skipped the first 2 or 3 seasons til he started getting decent, and never gained any experience points. I don't know about this year though, maybe it's changed.

Anyway, there are so many points to be gained through experience that you can make a huge difference. I'd make a wild guess and say that if you play well in the first few (say 4) seasons, you can easily increase any given attribute by at least 3 or 4 through experience points alone each season

You have to play every match yes. But thats the cool part mate. I mean, that's what BAL is all about. Patience is a virtue they say :) And trust me - you will get those insane stats if you just play decent. I think the stats increase waaay to fast compared to pes 2009.

My player is 19 and has already great stats..

^But you get more exp point than 09 only if you play well with a rating of 7.0 or above. I find this realistic to have more exp points because in reality you get better with how you play in each match. Sp the better you play, the better legend you become and also less time it takes. Take messi for example. He played really well and now at 22 he's the best.:)

In other words, its important to play every single game as a young player and you might be able to slide by skipping a few games as an older player?

I skipped a season without saving and found that my players attributes grew. So does he grow at a "natural pace" and then exp pts make him better than the average player?

Also, when you skip a game do you only miss on THAT game's exp pts or your whole season?

When you skip a game you only miss that game's exp points.
And also you need exp points to be able to develop better. That's why when you get good rating (which means more exp) you develop over the line of the curve graph. I do not know what happens when you skip matches all the time though.

Didn't know that. But i don't get 7 in every game. Sometimes i do, but in general i just think the stats raise a bit too quickly compared to pes09..

^Yes they do raise quicker but for me that's a good thing because there are players that develop early.

When you skip games you miss out on match exp (red). You still get development exp (green). Depending on how well you play, you can get 20-25 match exp each game in certain stats, so it's worth playing as many as you can.

I've found having 6 Focus points in Stamina and Speed gives the greatest overall growth, especially if you get a 7+ match rating (Easiest way is to score or assist)

Are you sure? I've started playing as a striker in world class mode and I'm finding it hard to raise xp.

So actually having some areas where you don't have any focus points or what?

Yes. Having blocks on speed and stamina seems to be the best option even if I still leave 1 for dribbling and 1 for kicking.
This is because after a few games the red EXP of speed and stamina won't be earned anymore. Instead the EXP points (red) will be given to all other abilities but not to speed and stamina. So having blocks focusing on speed and stamina is the best because you leave the rest to go up with the red EXP points.

With 6 blocks in Speed and Stamina, i have increased 3-4 points in each stat, with an increase in 6-8 points in Top Speed, Acceleration, Response and Stamina. I have a Top Speed and Stamina of 87 at 18 years old ;)

basically, the development curve of ur player is a rough estimate of h8im skipping matches but with strengthening on. if u play all matches well with average rating of 6.5, u will see ur dot way above the stupid curve.

Speaking abt focus pnts, it is important to up kicking to the max as it increases the most stats than any other. tat is important as early stages u will gain exp ppnts easily. ltr on during the game u shld switch to stamina. Stamina early is useless as it only ups abt 4-5 stats wheareas kicking ups 9-10. I have been uping kicking n my player has an overall rating of 101 at the age of 25 (no joke).

I have to disagree. The quicker you get stamina up, the more game time you get. You'll find you keep getting subbed off till stamina is about 85, and i find most of my goals are scored in the last 10-15 minutes when the game opens up.

Kicking is important though, i'm concentrating on it now!

I see...so in other words even if i skipped all matches my guy would prbly end up being a Landon Donovan type player wheras if I played all matches and got good ratings it'd lean more towards Messi type?

Well i guess you can put it like that... The more games you play, the more "match experience" points (red bar) you will get. These are what make your player better than the average player.

Saying that, you won't have to play EVERY game to be good. I skip games if i have purple form arrow or a lot of fatigue (don't want to get injured).

^Skip only when you are fatigued. I managed to play a full season skipping only 2 matches. I had a high stamina (it was season 3 with Arsenal). About 85 or a bit less.
