exactly..
plus , the fact that , once these fanse finally get the chance to see , even just one , game in real life , in the stadium.. probably means more to them than it means to you , jack*ss
how can it mean more to someone who only shows support by owning merchandise?
as opposed to someone who goes the game and has grown up with the club in his veins because of family and the fact that in Liverpool (the city) football is like religion, there are 2 Premier League sides in this city and the rivalry is with you from the day you're born. For me and most people in this city supporting a football team isn't about picking a team from a foreign league and deciding you like the way they play so you'll support them, it's about what you're grown with, where you live. You feel pride that the team is representing your city and in essense is representing you as a local lad. People who don't travel to matches and people from around the world who support English teams don't understand why we feel like this.
When Liverpool were massive and winning everything in the 70s and 80s thousands of people came from abroad claiming to have been Liverpool fans all their lives, then in the 90s people came from everywhere claiming to be Man Utd fans, a lot of them were Liverpool fans a few years earlier, now they're all following Chelsea.
Since Liverpool won the European Cup for the 5th time in 2005 there's been a loads of people from round the world claiming they are Liverpool fans.
Supporting a team shouldn't be about who plays the best football, it should be about the connection you have with the team.
also i think it's funny how when a foregner supports an English team it's always either Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal or Chelsea, in Spain it's Barcelona or Real Madrid, in Italy it's either Juventus, AC Milan or Inter Milan, it's always one of the big successful teams, but then the 'fans' always say "i don't support them because they're successful, it's nothing to do with you why i support them"
People don't understand how passionate English club fans are, and really do talk a lot of shit, just like the person i've quoted above.
I'm sure noone will agree with me and it's pointless you kids bothering to argue your point so can this thread simply go back to being a thread about Pro Evo.
Most of the faces in this thread are class, but the Gerrard and Lampard ones make them look like they're 50 years old.
