typical part time fan then.

proper football fans support their local team, not a foreign team just because they're better than your local teams.

i despise glory hunting fans, i'm sick of people supporting Man Utd who are from miles away from Manchester, and now there are loads supporting Chelsea because they look like they're gonna win loads.

pisses me off to see phoney fans.

Ok, well that's your problem.

I for one am not a glory hunter. You don't know how i came about supporting Barcelona, and we'll leave it that way.

I support my local team, Rangers, i love them and would stand by them in any situation. I don't support Barcelone because they are better than them, that's just complete stupidity. Let's end this now, you take your shitty opinions about Glory hunting out of Norek's thread and i'll stop replying. End of.

I like the fact that you don't post your location though.

i live in Anfield about 200 yards from Liverpool FC.

i just think people whi support 2 different clubs aren't real fans and are usually under 15.

c'mon mate....what do you say to someone who lives in say Zimbabwe who genuinely likes his football?....doesn't have a local club that he can support and his club of choice is Arsenal .... would you call him a glory hunting fan?
i despise fans who can not accept the fact that football has a worldwide fan base and not limited to a selected few

I live in Belgium & I've always supported Barça.. what's your problem  none of the belgian teams ever played the beautiful game as beautiful as Barça did .. so why would I choose to support them?

Football is about pride and passion, not supporting the team that gives you the best chance of success.

i say this as a Liverpool fan, who are widely renouned as the most passionate fans in the World. So i'm sorry if my opinions upset people but what pisses me off is when a supporter in the likes of Scotland supports a foreign team because they're a better side.

Oh for fucks sake!

I told you, i do not support them because they are a better side, grow the fuck up. I also said i have my reasons for supporting them, which started when i was about 8 years old, which also i am not gonna bother explaining to someone like you.

Also you make is sounds as though i support Barça more than i do Rangers, that is also untrue. So you my friend, can fuck right off now.:)

I support Inter Milan - I lived in Milan when I was younger
I now live in Guernsey (No local team) so I still support Inter, Its not a local team but I support them just as well as any Italian and Rangers probabley does the same for Barca.

that's different and i can understand that.

i just don't understand why people just decide to support a foreign team when you might possibly go to 2 or 3 of their games in your life.

to me, to support a team properly you have to be able to go the game and show your support, your situation is different obviously.

First of all, you picked the wrong person to label a glory hunter. Everyone around these parts knows that he loves Glasgow Rangers, as his name clearly states.

He likes to watch Barcelona, as half of the planet does, and they are his favorite team after Rangers so i don't see why you've got a problem with that.

Secondly, there are about a dozen different ways in which a fan can support his club other than going to watch the games. I live in Syria and i can't grab a plane ticket every fucking weekend to go watch Ronaldinho and Deco shit on people, now can i? Does that make me a lesser fan? I think not. I renew my mebership and buy a jersey every year.

Still, i'm feeling what you're saying. It really makes my blood boil when an arab that has never set foot on Spain comes up to me after a game that Barcelona's lost and tries to rub it in my face. The truth is, i wouldn't mind it as much if someone from Madrid did, but to have someone that doesn't understand, really understand, the geopolitical and spiritual depth of this most primordial of clashes between Good and Evil, laugh in my face and tell me how pathetic my club is compared to the mighty Galacticos, pisses me off to such an extent. It actually gives me some insight into understanding why some people end up commiting murder.

Football is for everyone.....i don't give a fuck if someone lives in Norway and goes for United and can only see one game in their whole life..as long as the twat supports united and doesn't disappear into oblivion when we are mid table or worse.....English fans, as i have said before beleive in this exclusivity of being a fan and they believe its their god given right to support Liverpool, Arsenal and etc etc......but no, when someone's in sydney and supports arsenal they're instaneously brandished glory hunters
enough ranting

how can it mean more to someone who only shows support by owning merchandise?

as opposed to someone who goes the game and has grown up with the club in his veins because of family and the fact that in Liverpool (the city) football is like religion, there are 2 Premier League sides in this city and the rivalry is with you from the day you're born. For me and most people in this city supporting a football team isn't about picking a team from a foreign league and deciding you like the way they play so you'll support them, it's about what you're grown with, where you live. You feel pride that the team is representing your city and in essense is representing you as a local lad. People who don't travel to matches and people from around the world who support English teams don't understand why we feel like this.

When Liverpool were massive and winning everything in the 70s and 80s thousands of people came from abroad claiming to have been Liverpool fans all their lives, then in the 90s people came from everywhere claiming to be Man Utd fans, a lot of them were Liverpool fans a few years earlier, now they're all following Chelsea.

Since Liverpool won the European Cup for the 5th time in 2005 there's been a loads of people from round the world claiming they are Liverpool fans.

Supporting a team shouldn't be about who plays the best football, it should be about the connection you have with the team.

also i think it's funny how when a foregner supports an English team it's always either Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal or Chelsea, in Spain it's Barcelona or Real Madrid, in Italy it's either Juventus, AC Milan or Inter Milan, it's always one of the big successful teams, but then the 'fans' always say "i don't support them because they're successful, it's nothing to do with you why i support them"

People don't understand how passionate English club fans are, and really do talk a lot of shit, just like the person i've quoted above.

I'm sure noone will agree with me and it's pointless you kids bothering to argue your point so can this thread simply go back to being a thread about Pro Evo.

Most of the faces in this thread are class, but the Gerrard and Lampard ones make them look like they're 50 years old.
