[FACES] Classic Faces by Ratmundo

No problem mate, but I think it is best I keep my file separate from the other one so only fair that discussion regarding my file is in my own thread.

I am a big fan of former Yugoslav players so wanted to include Red Star in the other file.

As for my file.. yes I have created a Classic Team for Yugoslavia but also a Croatia team as well. So Yugoslavia will include all players from Nations of the former Yugoslavia except for Croatia who have their own squad.

I have done something similar with the USSR which include all nations of the former Soviet Union except for Ukraine who have their own squad.

East Germany are also in my file as is a combined Slovakia and Czech Rep squad.

I think having USSR, Yugoslavia, East Germany and Czechoslovakia will give the file a more Classic feel... I have created kits for all the teams myself and the kits are mostly from 1970 to 1982 a few are as late as 1990 and then Ukraine and Ivory Coast which have kits from 1992, again I did this to give the file a more classic feel.

Here is a preliminary list of all the nations I am working on.

Teams in BOLD have only a few faces to complete but everything else is done including stats. Kits have all been done except for 12 teams.

ALL faces are created by myself.

Europe
Austria
Belgium
Bulgaria
Croatia
Czechoslovakia
East Germany
England

Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Holland
Hungary
Israel
Italy
Northern Ireland

Norway
Poland
Portugal
Rep. of Ireland
Romania
Scotland
Spain
Sweden

Switzerland
Turkey
Ukraine
USSR
Wales
Yugoslavia

North & South America
Argentina
Brazil

Chile
Colombia
Ecuador
Mexico
Paraguay
Peru
Uruguay
USA

Africa & Asia
Algeria
Australia
Cameroon
Japan
Nigeria
South Korea

The following teams I am am struggling to find stats and images for but really want to include 4 of them.

Egypt
Ghana
Iran
Ivory Coast
Morocco
Saudi Arabia

I have based the final squads mostly on pesmitidelcalcio.com and information found on Planet World Cup.

I hope that answers most of your questions that you may have matey ;)

wow rat, i dont think ive ever been this excited for a PES creation ever..could i ask you to post a teaser of some of the squads you chose? It would have been probably the only fun part - picking the final squad members :) huge squads or only 23 man?

I will eventually upload some 'teasers' or previews of faces etc. But to get an idea of the squads go to http://www.pesmitidelcalcio.com as I have based most of the squads on their selections.

I am a big fan of the 1950's, 60's and'70's football with more videos, books and magazines than I care to mention, and could have easily filled the squads with players from those eras, but I doubt many would have been interested in using any of the teams. lol

So selecting the squads has been the hardest part for me. I have selected balanced squads as if each nation was going to the World Cup tournament ...

so there is in each 23 man squad
2 x GK (no need for 3 as they are very rarely injured or sent off)
3 x FB at least 2 of these with FB as their primary position
4 x CB at least 3 of these with CB as their primary position
5 x CM, (DM & AM Included here) at least 4 of these able to play CM
3 x wide players, 2 of these must be natural wingers either RM/LM or RW/LW
3 x SS at least 1 of these with SS as their primary position
and 3 x CF at least 2 of these with CF as their primary position.

I did this as I suspect that most people would want to lay offline tournaments and there is more choice in formations and tactics depending on the opposition, and of course yellow and red cards, injuries etc.

Let's be honest, we could pick at least 10 World Class forwards for Brazil alone but that isn't a realistic squad.

At first the way I have done it may look too restrictive, but a preliminary Brazil squad will show you how good a squad can look.

GK
Gilmar
Taffarel

FB
Nilton Santos
Djalma Santos
Roberto Carlos

CB
Luis Pereira
Domingos Da Guia
Mauro Ramos
Carlos Alberto

CM
Didi
Gerson
Falcao
Socrates
Toninho Cerezo

Wide Players
Jairzinho
Garrincha
Rivelino

SS
Zico
Zizinho
Ronaldinho

CF
Ronaldo
Romario
Pele

Most squads are at the stage where I still have at least 2 players yet to decide upon so the above Brazil squad may change a little or may not ;)

Yes, man. I read.

Sócrates was more forward, attacking miedfielder. By the way, played many times of centerforward.

I just made a point of making that observation, because it is a common mistake in Europe to say that Socrates played of "regista". If it's not your case, friend, i apoligize.

PS: I created four teams four teams of Brazil of all time (Brazil, Brazil B, Brazil C and Brazil D). This month, I finish fifth.

I can post here.

Actually there are four changes from their squad mate...;)

Out are Cafu, Rivaldo, Tostao & Leonidas

In are Gerson, Ronaldinho, Jairzinho and Toninho Cerezo

To be honest I have made Leonidas, Tostao, Zizinho and Ademir and only room for one of them :crymore:

I am toying with the idea of 2 squads for Brazil, Argentina, Holland, England, Italy and Germany with a split at 1979... so a squad of players from 1930 - '79 and then one from 1980 till today... :erm:

I checked out pesmitidelcalcio too and I hope Stojkovic and Savicevic made the final squad for Yugoslavia. I noticed they were on reserves. It must be tough to select a final roster with so many legends to choose from.

Nice one Rat...can't wait for release on these national teams should be great to play with. Just on that Brazil squad you have picked i would say Aldair is unlucky to miss out, best Brazilian centre back iv'e seen since i started watching football in the late 80's.Rest of squad looks great

Infact, i like your idea of having two era teams from the bigger nations especially if you do get the chance. Just looking at that Brazil team, although i agree with it, it is still missing the likes of Junior, Cafu, Bebeto, Rivaldo, Dunga, Eder and others just from 1982 onwards.

Anyway, good luck with the project, looking forward to many hours of nostalgic fun with these teams :D

You can see we are thinking the same things mate... I think I replied with two full squads, that had ALL the players you mentioned, within a minute of your post :D

I have created a classic kit for ALL the teams... Brazil I have made 1970 set and a 1982 set ;)

Argentina 1978 and 1982 kit sets
England 1966 and 1982 kits
Holland 1978 and 1990
Germany 1974 and 1982
Italy 1970 and 1982

and for the other nations I have created a classic kit set that is a favourite of mine.. like Denmark '86, Portugal '66, Yugoslavia '82, Cameroon '90, Scotland '78, etc etc.

I will provide a link to all my kits once I am able to do a preview image of the main ones ;)

Stunning. sounds like you have a great passion for the classics already sounds like a lot of time and effort has gone in, I love that 86' Denmark kit and the team wasn't too shabby either!

Best of luck anyway mate, you have really whet my appetite for this so will be all over it once you get to release day :D

Don't get me wrong but both Oscar and Edinho were superior players to any of those guys you've chosen as CBs for the 80-16 team (same goes for Mozer or Luizinho) ;) Also Alemao would IMO be a better choice than Mauro Silva or Dunga, those two may be world champions but neverless they were the total opposite of what Brazil stands for: beautiful football, not destroying and fighting..
For second team Leao could replace Manga as Leao is considered by many people as second best GK in Brazil history (after Gilmar). Anyway it's obvious what team is better: if those teams would have met on the pitch, the Pre 1980's team would have destroyed those other guys with 5 goals difference at least ;)

Thanks for the suggestions buddy, I must admit that I forgot about Leao ... shame on me  but I did write the squads down at about 5 o'clock this morning from memory :)

I'll have a good look through the squads tonight some time ;)
