I have played football games with my close friend since 1991. We started with Kick Off (Atari version), continued with Goal (also Atari version) and Sensible Soccer (also Atari). When I bought my first Playstation (1996) we found first Fifa series, but the most awakening moment was to begin to play Pro Evolution Soccer by Konami. It was like a new world to us and since that we have been loyal to Konami. I still have all the PS1 and PS2 versions of the games and couple of years ago when I bought PS3 we continued with PES 2009, 2010, 2011 and now 2012. We have also tried Fifa games now and then, but it doesn’t feel the same.
We have always played the game using league mode with 20 teams (10 teams each), it is the only way to enjoy the glorious moments of victory and of course great depths of loosing a game. First we played Finnish league, but soon we found it to be a bad idea, because who has ever heard of good Finnish football teams? So we changed to play English Premier League, which is very popular here in Finland. We are very equal players and we have a unique playing system, by which we can play every single game of the league (and I must say, there is not a single game you want to loose…). Nowadays we play normally one time a week, 6 to 8 games, so it takes a long time to play the whole league season.
The game has been evolving all the time during these years, but I must say that the PS3 versions have had quite many faults every year. This years version is very playable (also the shooting and passing work good enough), and the patches have changed it to even better. The graphics are better than in Fifa and the editing system is good. I specially like the possibility to add effects in mp3 .The players look more human like than in Fifa, in which the players are too skinny and erected (looks like they are robots). Still there is a major fault for players like us: we are playing a whole league season (380 games), and it seems that it is not possible to transfer players during the season. This has been a problem for us in all PS3 versions, earlier it could be avoided by editing players during a season, but this wasn’t possible in PES 2011, and in this years version you can change players name and looks during a season, but not his attributes. Is there a special reason for this, or is it a bug that should be corrected? Now there are two ways to complete the whole season: playing the whole season with same players or play the season in two different parts with different players after the transfers. Both ways feels wrong, but what can we do?

All things considered PES is the best football game ever, and I sincerely hope that the game developing team in Konami keeps up good work also in the future.

No, I'm not!

You're kidding right?? cause its shit. And i have played PES for 6 years.

No, I'm not kidding, I wrote what I'm thinking. PES 2012 is not a perfect game, but neither is Fifa. We have tried several Fifa versions (Latest Fifa 11), and it is a good game… But not for us. When you play PES, every game is different and unexpected, you never know what will happen. Fifa matches are too similar and dull (and I think the players look odd). That is the charm in playing PES, it is never boring. Of course it is annoying that shooting is this year a bit more lottery than earlier, but it is still fun. We have played PES so many years, that we just think: Ok, this year it feels like this, maybe it is better next year…
