What the hell is wrong with the shooting?????????????
Konami seriously have to work on a new patch even if it just for the sake of fixing the darn shooting, if it is what one can call shooting. The most important thing of soccer is the thing you cant do,shooting. The passing feels and sound much more powerful then a shot at goal.

Shooting isn't as bad as you may think, unfortunatly, you can't just press shoot even in 1-1 situations, you may have to hold R2, double tap Shoot or even press R1 then press shoot. It was awful when I started playing I really was thinking "What the hell is this???!!?" but I changed how I shoot and now I can hit powerful shots most of the time. Shooting doesn't really need fixing, it just need to be learnt.

To be fair to you, if you press the shoot button the player should shoot a decent shot, but PES doesn't work that way this year, you have to do other things as well (Press other buttons) which can be a pain

I am using R2 when taking shots. The R1 and double tab however is new to me.

Sometimes I find some of the shots I try to pull off are like finishing moves in mortal combat. Although I have less time, and if I mess up I can't try again, but you get the idea.

The thing is the shooting was perfectly fine, that was until the patches came. I love the original game, but then I had to use option files so I was forced to download and install the patches.

Did anyone notice sometimes chip shots using l1 and square are sometimes more powerful than normal shots........i scored a screamer of a lob into the top corner.......i was embarrassed for konami and there stupid animations/shooting problems rather than being overjoyed as i usually was at scoring one!

I was once running with the ball with ordaz and shot and it had barely any sting. Then again i was running with ordaz and passed it full power and that defo had more power and the funny thing was the keeper caught it wheras if you shoot, the keeper spills it. Poor programming

The shooting is difficult this year I'll grant you that. I had endless trouble hitting the ball always straight at the keeper. It still happens now, but it's getting better. It's what makes me agree with the folks that are saying, "shooting isn't broken, it just needs to be learnt."

Keep going guys, it'll come I'm sure.

Lol don't get me started on fucking shooting!. I agree totally with what you say. I even try to pass the ball in the net cause at least i know that it will be on target!. I love this game but the most important part is dodgy(Shooting). I guess it wont be getting fixed tho, Maybe others can answer this!

shooting now has turned into an art. To be honest I like it that way now,

I didn't at first but now I have got used to it, there are so many factors you have to take into consideration when shooting it's unreal. Do I have the space, do I have a good angle, can the player with the ball hit a decent strike???

You have to take all these factors into consideration in a fraction of a second at times, and it can be daunting. Getting my striker to push the ball out of his feet in the box while being hounded by defenders has become second nature to me now, the idea of having to tap R1 and R2 together (R1 and RT for you Xbox ppl) just to create a bit of distance between you and the ball to hit a low drive with REAL power into the bottom corner.....if your just pressing shoot in these situations, it's going to be more hit and hope......more often than not blasting the ball well over the bar.

PRACTICE, PERSISTENCE and PATIENCE is the key.

Just keep trying you will be rewarded.

I don't get the reasoning of complicating shooting????? Really? Dribbling make sense that it must be complicated because it is not everyone especially in english football( no offence). Spanish football is known to be a game of dribbling and rarely you get the long, long passes. Shooting should be simple and easy to perform because that it is what football is all about. This game is like a racing game with cars where you have to press x,[], and 0 to make the car turn left etc.

Although I can see your point in making shooting easier. The thing is once you master the skill of shooting in Pes you have so many options of shots at your disposal.

What you say makes sense lee. Im always the first to complain about shooting, And i find it difficult. But that's probably my fault!. Im sure that there is an art to it. I never seem to get time on the training pitch that's half my problem. In a way im glad its an art cause id sooner learn how to shoot properly, Than shooting be to easy. My biggest gripe with konami is that it takes guys like you to find out how to shoot. Because they r to ignorant to show us.

many hidden controls in PES - the manual is pretty useless tbh, a guide of real time situations would generate a lot of attention i bet. Think i might get on that sometime, like a video guide to showcase what things are best used when!
