Can't believe one site gave PES 4/10 :shocking:

And that only one site gave PES a higher score than FIFA :shocking::shocking:

Ah well, all that matters is that I enjoy it :)

I tell you as a die hard Pro Evo fanboy for what seems like forever, I am currently enjoying Fifa a lot more than Pro Evo. Hopefully time will prove Pro Evo to be better, beacuse it makes me a bit sick in the mouth that i appear to be going to the dark side.

FIFA is really good, but not as good as some of these reviews suggest. I haven't had enough PES time to know about whether its any good yet.

Good job I don't listen to reviews or I'd be 25 quid out of pocket. :)

Just shows reviews mean nothing, its all down to personal preference.

Preciscly, I've played both & simply prefer PES because of the gameplay & as it grows on you the more you play it whereas FIFA seems to get very repetitive after about a month. Money well spent

Interesting, I just need to ask one question: why when Fifa implement anything into the game is called gimmicks and irrealistic but if PES makes the same move it's life like and amazing, for example the guy who writes down the interfering with play blog stated:
Fifa gameplay is not realistic, it's not good, ball is too light ... BUT when PES ball feels light he said: Oh, I think modern footballs feel light and that is why both games have gone to make the ball feel this way ... Ugh fanboys will be fanboys. Are we football fans or PES fans?

Agree 100%. That is (for me anyway) the deciding factor between the two. FIFA looks and feels great for the first few weeks of playing, but after about a month the game play just got stale. I felt like I was scoring the same goals, doing the same moves, and playing the same game over and over again. Conversely, I feel there is always somthing new for me to accomplish with PES. The game play grows on me instead of going stale.

Reviews now a days are crap. The best review goes to the highest bidder, and if not the highest bidder then the game with the best layer of shiny
new-ness.

Ged: We're both. That is why we are on a PES forum... :fplm:

Who is he? He's a nobody... Giving he's own opinion that means nothing to me. I've loved every PES to date, I know 08 was the worst, but it was still playable more than FIFA (for me!). I couldn't care less what all the reviews say because I have a game that I enjoy playing.

Even if I was in 2 minds about which one to buy, reviews would never entice me into which one to buy. No-one knows what makes me tick about games so only I can make the decision. :)

I don't mean to sound offensive, but people that give reviews are just seeking attention. Meaning they have nothing better to be doing...

PES fans don't need an "official review" to tell them if they like a game. PES is far from perfect, but it's still plays better than FIFA does. To be honest, upon first play, I think FIFA is better than PES for most players. The real gift of the game is working away at it, trying to get better. I don't feel that after 2 months, I'm any better at FIFA than I was after knowing the basic controls.

Fifa hasn't been out for 2 months, so what version are you talking about? Or are you lying?

I've had Fifa for just over a week, and am enjoying it more and more all the time. It feels closer to a real game of footy than any game ever, despite still having flaws. I'm working on mastering the tricks now so i can skin people now and again, as at the moment it's all about short, intricate passing and little chipped through balls to get a chance. My crossing and heading needs a bit of work too, but the improvements are being made. It's definitely a very deep game.

P.S. It's also got the goalmouth scrambles that are such a cool part of PES.

Maybe, maybe not. I enjoy PES, not the best PES ever, but beats PES08 by a long shot.

If I never had PES09 and I read 100 bad reviews and 1 good review, neither will change the fact I'm buying it. If its a game I've never heard of, then I will try a demo, or acquire before I buy. Another reason why I love the PC :)

i think to round a lot of loose ends and discussions up, maybe we have come to excpect too much from pro, thats why fifa seems so good this year because we expected so little from it as always.
my view on how good a game should be has also changed in recent years with the addition of online play on home consoles

maybe this also has something to do with the reviews and peoples opinions on here

a lot of the review ratings are given by comparing previous versions of that same game

For example, Computerandvideogames.com gave FIFA 9.0 and PES 8.8 but in the review they say PES is still the best footy game available

gaffa cant admit defeat

Why would I want to do a thing like that? If I didn't like the game, I would say my peace then find another game to play... I refuse to kick up a fuss if I don't like a game. Its just childish... Sorry.

You seem to be having quite a few problems with PES, me? None so far apart from the BAL crash which I personally found a fix for. :) Online runs good, and as for the offline modes... In about 3-4 years I haven't touched the offline modes, now I am, and even though I enjoy both online and offline. Offline is addictive now. Especially with the BAL.

By the way, regarding your signature "Newcastle team, 2004 : Shearer cott Bellamy given Bramble speed !!", surely it should be Shearer Cort Bellamy Given Bramble Speed (Cort as in Carl Cort the striker???)

Either way FTM, ha'way the red and whites on saturday
