FIFA 14 demo up on Origin

Just under 2GB in size.

I played a few games. Not liking it thus far. Movement seems off, very off, and the game speed seems to have increased which isn't good. They also appear to have added a delay to the LT skills modifier, cause it isn;t working instantly for me.

It's ok. FIFA 13's demo was so different from the final release that I won't draw too many conclusions from this.

Just realized that LT is no longer the Skills modifier. It is more for hold up play and putting your body between ball and player. Works pretty well too. Using somebody like Ibrahimovic really allows you to hold up the ball and bring other midfielders up the pitch.

Tried it, as an "outsider" (have played a small amount of Fifa13) other than the menu layout, the gameplay is very similar. Only main difference I noticed was that you can now use just the right stick to perform simple skill moves.

so i am convinced EA made the new demo defaults equal to the following FIFA13 sliders

Sprint Speed: 40
Pass Speed: 35
Shot Speed: 40
Man Marking: 70
First Touch Control: 80

and then were done with it
oh, and add in a few new animations to accompany that 80 level first touch control, and a new, rather annoying, animation where a player bends at the waist and shuffles his feet to keep the dribbler in front of him even when he has dribbled around that said defender.

Played a few games. Can't say I enjoyed said games too much. Haven't played any FIFA in a while though.

i have gotten a better feel for protect the ball feature. I am playing 13 at the moment and so many times I wish it was in this version because the cpu just steals it away without a chance of holding on to it. At least protect the ball allows us to turn our back and have an opportunity to wait for a teammate. I will give Protect the Ball a plus for the demo.

Controlling the ball, dribbling and passing is a little more tricky, but I guess that's how it was when I first played FIFA 13. I'll get used to it soon. The only problem I have is that the game speed is way too fast. It's a shame there isn't an option to slow it down on the demo, but they better have it on the full game.

reading the ea fifa forum most people are ecstatic at the current speed of the demo so I don't expect a change. I agree with you DF, still too fast. We can fix that with game speed and sliders but online will be lightning in a bottle.
