This is my first post here so Hello people, but after 2 weeks of playing PES 5 it has finally clicked it took time and endurance but i finally got there ahhh what a great feeling. I could now easily sit on my sofa and play this game all day now. For the people who are playing the game and getting really FRUSTRATED with it just stick in there and it will come with time!

Happened to me this morning too. I was playing and getting more and more frustrated. Out of a 30 game season I drew 20 matches! and 95% of them were 0-0 draws. then i started a new season and bang! it clicked. I even beat Barcelona 2-0. This game is nice

The game clicked when I battered someone 7-1 completey out of the blue.

BTW has anyone experienced a glitch in the ML when a player scores more than 3 goals but is only awarded those 3? Because in that match I had a striker who scored 4 goals and despite him scoring the goal he was never credited with it, I thought it was quite strange.

this game is definitely not a waste of money. i have to admit that i haven't exactly figured out the best way to play it, and it urges me to no end to try to figure it out. i'm still learning on 3 stars (pshaw... amateur...) and i was starting to think i'd gotten good.

until today...

i've played about 7 matches today... and 4 of them ended in PK's. 2 ended in 1 goal wins, and the last one just pissed the hell out of me. I do notice that the com piles on a ridiculous amount of pressure after you've scored a goal against them. i remember this happened in PES4 when u were one or two goals up against the com and there was very little time left...

all of a sudden, their passes just string together as though my team isn't even there at all. like i said, i do not mind a challenge, but when even a SO-CALLED mediocre team can score in manners that are near impossible for us... i don't know...

i've just concluded that today is indeed a bad day for PES5...

:D ..PES will do that to you.. I find the best thing to do is play patient football.. not expect a barrage of goals every game and when i go one up i wait for the opposition to come forward.
Using the Super cancel buttons to move my defenders helps quite a bit when the cpu piles pressure on.. as you are in control of that defender and can close him down more effectively. Its true though that sometimes no matter how good you are if the cpu wants to score .. it will.

The big help that I can give you all is using the attacking arrows for Attacking Midfielders and fowards as it will move them around abit more. Plus if the computer is catching you out with through balls at the back have your Central Defenders running back towards your goal and you dont get caught out as much if at all. I played against Arsenal last night beat them 2-0 (2 counter attacking goals) but if I hadn't got the formation and Arrows right they would have killed me the passing was mixed up and brilliant, long balls, short balls and killer through balls with pace everywhere - thats the way we all should strieve to play like as it can be done on this version!!

Cracking example last night. Just got promoted from div 2 last night with Chelsea and played Arsenal for the first time. They thought they could wip me so fielded thier reserve team. Thrashed the gets 5-0! It truely is an Evolution!

As they say, patience is a virtue. Pro evo is like many great things in that it takes time and practise to master. If it didn't it would not be the Great game that it is.

That's what i absolutely love about PES5. you have to vary your play in order to perform well. and i'm not saying that varying will always get you good performances. even then, that's part of the beauty of PES5. i've always played a passing game in PES4, and i'm glad that PES5 emphasises the need for that even more so. :)

one thing i've yet to get working though... have u guys tried to beat the defenders with a thru-chip? it was definitely easier to execute in PES4, but i can't figure out how to get it to work. no matter where i'm playing the pass to or from, the opponent's keeper always gets to it.

I noticed that too. When you get promoted to division 1 (I was Liverpool) in game 5 I was up against Man U who left out Rooney, Ruud, Ronaldo, Keane, Scholes etc! Hammered them 4 - 1

the chip thro is a lot harder, the only chance you have is getting fast forwards and trying it from deeper.

Tis true, Tried to do a few cheeky lobs but even when you think you have got enough power in the shot, it just trickles in to the keepers arms in the form of a slow daisycutter!

agreed. i've finally adapted to 5 star play after about 3 weeks. i managed to beat barcelona 3-0 in their own home :) i'm getting there though i don't really know what's the best way to defend in PES5 cause i seem to foul alot and the referee seems to hate me or something.
