I'm having troboul or my ps2 is over the last few days it's been making some strange noises not grinding noises but the sounds you get when your lens is reading a disc. only it goes really quickly and does not stop till the disc is ejected. Loading a game from start is ok it always loads it's just in game it happens any one got an idea what the problem could be has any one had this problem before?.

About this time last year this happened to my PS2. I tried everything but didnt want to open the thing up in case I broke it into shit. The guy in the computer shop said he would fix it for £40!?! I said No chance am I payin that amount so I just got a new slimline for christmas for £90. Its a great machine but I feel kinda ripped off now that I couda done this all by myself.

One advantage of the old block as I call it is that you can use a multi-tap unlike the new one. Kinda crap having a slimline when you have two brothers to play with and about 8 controllers!!
