I've just played Football Kingdom
and i thought i'd offer my thoughts
graphics are shockingly poor... similar to about pes1 graphics.
it may have been made worse because i played euro2004 the day before and the player models on that are incredible.
graphics aside, it plays really well.
the animation and feel of the players are fantastic, its very responsive and feels really good.
there is also 360 degree passing (if you use the analogue stick, im used to using the D-pad, and so the passing is somewhat restricted. I dont like the position of the dual shock sticks. it just doesnt feel natural)
through balls have a power meter, so you can pull of some nice passing moves.
i havent figured out if you can curl the ball in open play, but the set pieces work very nicely
same with the trickery, cos its a JAP game, all the instructions are in foriegn, so i have no idea how to pull it off, although i've seen some gameplay videos which look good and show loads of tricks.
shooting is a bit lofty, and i havent quite got the hang of it yet.
in short, promising.
needs better graphics, and an english translation patch!

Are you calling "US" unreliable sources?
just kidding.Many people here played it, including myself, and I don't think it is bad at all.It's just not as good as we7i. But Namco with FK, has great potential to become first serious competition to Konami's WE/PES.
Some things are even better than in we/pes.
We'll see my friend after FK2 and WE8 are out, til' then, I date you gove it a try!.

Sup peeps. Just to remind everyone, Namco named this game Football Kingdom (TRIAL EDITION) , however this doesn`t mean it`s a trial version of a game or a demo, it means that Namco has just started publishing football games, so it`s a full version. I agree with Milosh. Namco`s first football game is coming close to Konami WE series, I`m sure Namco took/stole alot of ideas from Konami, so Konami was the true founder of everything. FK-TE feels like when PES1 was released or very first Winning Eleven game. BUT, I feel that NAMCO will become good in couple of years just like KONAMI is. Now, this is better for us. FIFA is already out-selling WE/PES all together. KONAMI needs to become even better, otherwise NAMCO`s FK will outsell WE/PES aswell.

Hope Not!Have tested this game as well now, I´m quite happy with it, it´s far away from WE/PES, but it´s muuuuch better than FIFA. The things which I don´t like are that it´s more arcady than WE/PES, the overall speed of the game isn´t faster than in WE7:I, the players move to hectically though, not as smooth as in Konami´s games. There are some huge bugs in the AI, the keepers have a strange positional play but still they´re stopping to many "unstoppable" shots.
But there are also some details in this game which are even better compared to WE/PES, eg the nets, animations for substitutions, better animations for fouls, headers and goalkeepers.

This game is horrible Larsson, I promise you after a few times you will throw it away just like me. It has indeed good things which Konami should implent to like lots of boots, nets, FK, PK etc etc
But the gameplay isnt that good if you ask me, its way to arcadey. I just cant enjoy of this game...Only time when I play is for the training mode, where you can take superb FK and PK.

The gameplay is arcady, but far better than in FIFA, and there are some really nice details which make the game enjoyable. Of course it´s not a game like WE/PES which you usually play a whole year, but when you have some guys at your house with some beers and a bit weed it´s nicer to play FK

For those that didn't know, there is a translation patch which gives you all the player names in English. I've attached the patch below. Just apply it to the bin with ppfomatic 3, like you would for PES/WE. I can confirm that the patch does work.
Unfortunately the maker of this patch, Kingsly has decided that the game is not worth playing so he won't be translating the rest of the game. But maybe someone else will try it.
