Im trying to express how much PES has declined and the serious competition fifa imposes on Konami now. From reading through this forum, I get the impression alot of people enjoy fifa more now

I can see why but after playing 09 alot i cant see why so people are getting excited over 2010. Its unbelievable how little its changed. I played 2010 with my friend and we got bored at half time ffs. Then we played 09 and we loved it. The shooting is so much better in 09 because in 2010 the 360 movement make shooting like fully manual which is annoying.

Well I downloaded the demo of fifa 09 aswell to see how different that was. I found 09 to be sluggish and quite unresponsive. Fifa 10 allows passing to be more fluent, whereas in 09 the passing is rushed and doesn't feel fluid. Well thats my opinion anyway.

alot in fifa10 has change but these 2 things surprised me...

1: How good skilled dribbling is (if you know what your doing) and using both toggles while doing it too..!!

2: The defensive AI.. When Seabass talked about fifa just being about 1on1 defending and PES a more team thing, i thought PES would have something fifa couldnt do, however.......

funny thread about fifa vs pes...so many diferences,diferent opinions.The truth is either way people will buy or play both,the season is long...PES 2010 got Champions League and Europa Super League...Fifa got all major leagues licensed....Next time i will make a thread if i should take a penalty on the left or rigth side.lololololololol.

Pretty much yeah, its the equivalent of a heat seeking missile that homes in on goal, no matter where you hit it.

One of the biggest problems with pes fans who try to play fifa, is they dont know how to calibrate the control system and as a result, they get fuck all out of the game. They are also very ignorant and dont give the game a chance, thus you see alot of people who claim the shooting is very easy etc etc, because they dont take it off assisted and they think they are great players......no.

1st of all, crossing over takes time. I would reccomend changing the button config so it mimics the config you use on pes, i cant play with fifa controls, i altered them to make them nearly the same as pes, and i was able to play the barca style football quickly.

secondly, go into controller setup and playing with the manual non manual settings, for a pes player you need

passing: Semi (manual)
Shooting: Semi
Through balls: assisted
Lofted through balls: Manual
Crossing: up to you.

Mimic the button config and the above settings and you have a pes type config which should allow you to get to grips with the game better.

I did the button configuration already
the manual and non manual setting were useful though

and TBH I don't think this thread is unuseful...
I learned lots of nice stuff the good and bad about FIFA 10...

In my opinion. If pes has the old gameplay back then it'll be a serious competition between fifa and pes.
But in my opinion, pes has the individuality which defines teams and players so it'll last longer.

FIFA is much more realistic....but that's not what always spins it for people. My mate prefers PES because of it's pick up and playability. FIFA is hard if you're new to it.

I just spoke to my m8 at college 2day who is a fifa fan and has been giving me stick over pes. He came in and said that he just downloaded it so i said did you like it. He was really pissed off. He couldnt believe how similar it was to 09 and he said 09 was better. He thought it was crap and imo he is exactly the type of person their aiming at. He isnt a hardcore gamer but plays most games.

At the risk of sounding pessimistic, does this friend of yours really exist? It seems like you're completely desperate for everyone to love PES and despise FIFA.

If he'd been giving you stick about PES, and himself being a FIFA fan, to say that FIFA 10 demo is 'crap' and that he was 'pissed off' but at the same time he 'couldnt believe how similar to 09' the game was...the same 09 he was a fan of? I don't think you've explained your 'friends' feelings very well.

Ok he does exsist but obviously i cant prove that. Im not totally anti fifa but im still amazed at how lame 2010 is. I have atleast 4 other people who either like fifa or love it who all really dislike fifa 2010. Its barely different in graphics and in gameplay and imo it has got worse in areas. I said he was a fan of 09 not praying to the disc every night.

If im anti Fifa because i really dont like fifa atall apart from 09 and now they've blatently just made a new game engine with 09 and will just barely build on it. I have every right to not like it and bash it (even though im not) especially in a Pes forum.

Im not desperate for everyone to love pes but imo i just dont see how people can be dismissing an overhauled Pes 2010 for an updated fifa 09 (fifa 2010) when all the people i talk to about it are saying to me how much they dont like fifa 2010 now.

Pes2010 on the other hand takes a little adjusting and practise to get into and to see its strengths and the 360 movement feels better implemented and tested and is more noticable at walking pace while fifa10s feels bolted on and rushed.

Fifa10s graphics are strange very gothic and dark with skinny bodys and big heads while pes2010 looks like a live broadcast and is stunining and photo realistic close up.

Pes2010 has better dribbling and you can change the momentum of the ball with your thumstick and skinning defenders is more fluent and natual while as fifa10 requires you use the pace control and sprint button together which feels out of context with the rest of the game.

Pes2010 has the tactics slider which works and adds a tactical edge with the cards plus the ai is more organic as are your teamates movements.Pes2010s animation now matches fifa10s and player individuality is better in pes2010 then its ever been previously.

Fifa10s a good effort this year but pes2010 is in a different dimension with its tactics,flowing tricks,player likenesses and gameplay...

sounding good perfectstrik.from the sounds of it many people are dissapoited with fifa 10, even some of their 'loyal fans'.
