Great review by francis, unbiased fair opinion which we can all relate to….

i notice alot people around the forums Always seem to post points up about how Pro evoloution is clunky, robotic and although graphics are superb, animations are out-dated and arcadey…. but you see Konami intend them to be like that

i think everyone is having a hard time trying to accept that our beloved Pro evoloution is well…an arcade style game and Konami will continue to keep it that way.

all this talk about a game engine revamp, and animation rework is totally unnecessary because of the fact pro evo is an arcade game made for its audiences in Japan.

PES isnt meant to be a simulation…but rather a fun, high speed, bright, graphically gifted arcade game.

The so called Pro Evo feel will always be there and i can tell you all here straight out that Konami dont intend to revamp gameplay to an extent that the game isnt an arcade anymore… and you best bet that Further Pro Evo titles down the line will have this so called “clunky, robotic gameplay” as francis like to describe it” simply because it keeps the arcade alive.

in short, people who expect a slow, releastic, nice moving, fluid football simulation from KONAMI… they’ll never be plaesed since pro evo is yes..il say it once and il say it again (and again)..PRO EVOLOUTION SOCCER IS AN ARCADE GAME…and gameplay aint changing anytime soon..no matter what the community say or do

I'm not quite sure of the point your trying to make. It is that you think pro evo is .......ah ...... an arcade game!!

Were we wrong or did KONAMI not say PES 2010 "will go back to its simulation roots"?, which means they see the series originally not as an arcade game? Were we wrong all these years, that the awful FIFA is a true simulation? If this is the case, PES is going to lose many more users. Period.

In fact, the new video interview with one PES2010 producer says, in response to a question about new gameplay concepts, that "WE BRUSHED UP THE CORE GAME TO BRING BACK "FOOTBALL SIMULATION GAME."' But as you said, it is still very arcadey and outdated. I am quite shocked the final game still has very bad running animations. This is not an unreasonable complaint, as this is a valid point from the perspective that Konami themselves have been saying PES2010 is going to simulation roots (which implies PES was never an arcadey game in concept).
PESgaming's review is quite right, as PES2010 is unbelievably quite shoddy and very unbalanced. I thought FIFA 10 had major problems, but PES is more hopeless. This is 2009, almost half the PS3 and 360 cycle is gone, and PES 2010 is running on very antiquated game elements. Graphics are very good, but only candy to the main core simulation that was promised but is again missing... in fact, the ping=poing quality of PES2010 reminds me of a Pachinko game and that sort of mentality...

I seem to recall that shortly after the release of 2009 that seabass was quoted as saying that the PES was never a simulation, this year when I read that it was going back to its roots it made me chuckle; to me at least this is a bit of PR spin, Konami trying to claw its fan base back knowing that in europe and the americas we want a simulation based game, along with EA's furthered attempts they have turned tale. I wrote something about EA eventually taken the crown baised on solely on the cultral differences between the two manufacturers.

hmmm 08 and 09 ultimate simulations hmm you mean sprinting past a whole team with 1 player time and time again,

or your team not covering space or moving into space

or being able to score the same way always

i understand you mean well but... i just hope that next week pes10 is all it is meant to be pleasee or

I'm so looking forward to playing pes now. All this talking can stop at last and we can make our own judgements. I have a feeling it will be like last year, i bought fifa 09, it was brilliant until pes 2009 came out. don't think i played it after that.

i really like fifa this year but its too frustrating to play. you cant have really fun matches with your mates like you can on pro evo.

my main gripes this year from what ive heard from the reviews is that the commentary and animations are the same. the commentary especially for me, iyts so shit and boring at the moment, and wen u hear the sky sports sound of martin tyler and the legendary voice of andy gray it does annoy me

Yeah but i don't think the commentary in pes is good either. But i don't really care about it. I'm certainly looking forward aswell. Wish they'd released it yesterday (during the autumn holiday)
