Form arrows not matching up.

I understand that red is great, yellow is good, green is average, etc, but what I don't understand is when I go into a match in Master League and all of the starters are green, yellow or red on the field pretty much all of them have the blue dot on the status bar beside their name when I am using them.

Am I doing something wrong?

I bought the game used because that's all they had in 3 stores I called, and it didn't come with a booklet so I am lost.

The "blue dot" indicates that you are controlling that player?

I mean at the bottom of the screen, when it shows the opponent's player and then the player I have selected beside each of the is a vertical bar, all the same colors as the form arrows are there and when I started they usually matched up with the form arrows, but now it seems like everyone has a blue dot.

I just feel like they may not be playing as well as they could be so I wanted to know what I could do to fix this.

Also is there a guide of some sort that explains all the advanced stuff for the game? Not having that book is hurting me.

In the "Simple Settings" and "Set Tactics -> Controller Support" sections of the Formation settings screen, you can set the team to auto-attack or auto-defend, along with a few other options. Sounds like you're on auto-defend.
