Form question

I've been playing this game by letting the coach do most of the player selection (it's set to no preference, btw), but in many an important game I've brought in better players in worse form, because it looks to me like the coach is overvaluing form. But I fear I may be in the wrong in doing this, because someone in another thread called bad players with red arrows essentially Messi lites.

So should I just trust in the coach and let him do his thing? Should I value form even more?

Also, I like statistics, can anybody say how many points of overall rating these form arrows are worth? Or something like that. I'm having a really hard time figuring out what to think of them.

Messi on teal is still better than most strikers with red. I dont know how exactly does it work, but when player has the worst form possible i never put them on.. teal with superstar players is ok from my experience.. but when f.e player with 80 ovrl has green form, and there is someone with 75 ovrl and red form, the 75 is obv better :)

I do the exact same - i let the coach select my players and I set it to no preference, not ability or form. After a bit Di Michele was complaining he was tired and had a red face and didn't even let me communicate with him as the cpu kept on picking him, even on purple arrow so sometimes it is safer to put it on form

I never play a player on the purple arrow, and no matter how good that player is, they never complain about being left out of that match, if they're on blue, I'll weigh up my options, if I have a player who can play in that position who may be lower in stats but is in better form. I'll play them. I never let the coach pick my line up though, I'm the manager and that's why I do the picking.

If I have a few players on the Red arrow though, unless they are 20 Overall rating, there is a huge chance they will get a game even if it's only as a sub. I was surprised how good some players are on Red arrow. Van Den Berg (ML Master League default) is garbage really but I played him when he was on RED arrow and he ran my midfield.

Would you play someone your chairman has requested eventhough he is on a purple arrow or blue arrow. He forced me to play Sandomierski in Goal and he was purple and kept a clean sheet

Thanks for the help, but this is really nothing new. Let me ask it from you this way: If we have two similar players, one is orange arrow and the other is green arrow, how many points of overall rating can the orange arrow dude have less in order to justify picking him?

Blue yes, purple no, the chairman can go swivel.
