basically my friend plays a 3-6-1.... sorta like:

i end up gettin absolutely dominated in midfield.... and he doesnt faulter defensively either!!! even if i attack down the wings.....

almost an upfront diamond......

i play a 4-4-2
with AC MILAN. 2 AMF. 2CMF.
1SS...1CF....4 at the back.
he loves to attack down the wings and just get loadz of crosses and cutbakcs in....

HELP!

but as he attacks down the wings wont my defence be a little vulnerable?

i would like to stick with 4 at the back if possible.....

u just need to play five in the midfield and try to outclass him bcuz u would have 4 Defenders 5 Midfielders AND 2 Strikers so u can build attacks from anywhere and defend reasonably well.

Dont play as milan for starters as there is very little pace in that team.
You need to match him in midfield,chelsea would be good.Essien is a animal and ballack is very strong aswell

If you struggle defensively try 5 at the back or a defensive-ish 4-5-1 and try to frustrate him and play on the counter. If you are a decent player, you should get some chances and if you take one you can win 1-0 and he will be frustrated. Try it out.

4-3-3 with 2 dmf works a treat:

I always play this formation and completely batter my mates who used to destroy me, obviously with the attacking arrows set up aswell, having the Side backs attack down the wings and the wing forwards pushing wide, then the AMF just roaming left and right in front of the centre forward. The two DMF's will break up attacks easily and can cover the wings if needed, but have 1 of them running diagonal attacks to link up with the AMF.

See the formation your friend plays, i think this would work well. as well as the cover at the back, you will have 2 defensive midfield players a CMF and 2 wingers...let them be pacey. Try it as Liverpool

first of all im ditching AC for man u.

second of all..... ill try out all of those formations above.
will give feedback appropriately.

third of all.... im now willing to play 3 at the back and was told to try this.... what do u guyz think?

Call me silly for playing 4 strikers, but in a way this will help big time. First off look at the strength in attack, especially on the wings. you will have an advantage because you will have 4 strikers he will have 3. Midfield is pretty strong but this formation says "ATTACK, ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK" :)
