Hi guys so i have been trying to improve my all round game :fplm: and i am starting to look into the pre match setup, formations positions etc, and was wondering if anyone can take me through setting up a good formation, telling me about the certain positioning roles on the field (there duty in that position on the field) and what player stats and abilitys to look for to fill in those positions. I have a general idea but you guys know a hell of a lot, i know i can rely on you guys to help me out on this due to my good feedback on my last posts

Cheers Zipster

The formation more or less will change your play style. The arrows will give the player in that position to make diagonal or forward runs depending on your setting.

marking, mostly I went with zonal and given that it should retain your shape more effectively its a better choice to most people.

roles/positions will affect the players offensive bias. AMFs will charge forward more often and will be less inclined to retreat back to defend. CMFs are kinda neutral depending on how the player is inclined towards making runs (good position stat and off the ball attributes help a lot here).

SS is a new one from last year which just means 2nd striker. There are to me a mix of AMF and WF, players like Henry, Messi, C.Ronaldo, Tevez tend to do well in these positions.

For defenders, I look at them this way. Center Backs need to be strong, good in the air and have good tackling. Wing Backs need good tackling, passing and decent on the ball skills.
