Paul B, you love F1? And really anticipating for it? Well, good news. The game is awesome. I was in this expo a few days back and I played the PS3 for a demo, and this the game that was on offer (Other was Genji I think). Anyway, like I said it's a fantastic game. The sounds were brilliant but I was impressed the most about its realistic graphics and the realism it gives you. You can hear the engine running and its power!, the brakes and screeches when you turn, the crowd pumping you up, fantastic game really. Despite the experience playing the PS3 for the first time, I'd be happy with any game, but F1 SE was a really good game and it should be the first game I try and get if ever I get my own PS3. Like you describe it, its really breathtakingly good. ;)

bah...itll be the same old F1 game where somehow midlands lands a victory.
Studio Liverpool made a step towards making the game more difficult for F1 06 on the PS2. On Hard level is was almost physically impossible to get a drive for Super Aguri in Career mode as the test times were just too damn hard to beat. You had to really build your skills up before you could even come close to making the cut.

Admitedly, the difficulty is still not challenging enough for some people but it was a big step forward from previous games. I think half the trouble is not even the developers are half as good as some of the gamers out there as I've often read in interviews how shocked there are at how good/fast some gamers are. There's also the case that to play F1 games for more than a few seconds you really need to be an F1 purist like myself I think. If they make it too difficult its probably going to detract the er, how can I put it...regular gamers. But giving a greater range of difficulty levels is the way forward, and I am sure is something they will implement in the future. As I know they do listen to gamers you can tell from what was added to F1 06 from 05. The change was surprisingly substantial considering it was the last game on the PS2, you thought they might've saved their efforts for the PS3.

Glad to hear it my man, and how I wish I got to try it out too.

I must say this is the only real PS3 title that appeals to me at the moment, asides from the eventual release of PES of course. But I'm sure it will be worth getting the console just for it, even if F1 isn't going to be a release title as initially planned. And this, as a result probably means I won't get the console upon it's release, I'll wait for F1.

A lot of people seem to be saying the game is just going to be pretty much a port from the PS2 version, with just the greatly improved visuals. But for me I wouldn't mind too much if that was the case, just getting to drive around with things looking as good as they do there would be amazing in itself. Some say that the game should be put on hold further, and released as Formula One 07 - so that they can put in additional features like improving the AI. To some degree I would agree with that, but on the other hand couldn't bear the thought of waiting any longer without getting my hands on the game.
