Free Transfer Problems - Help Please!

Can anyone stop me from pulling my hair out before I go completely bald? I want to transfer players, who have recently been transferred in the real world, to their correct teams. I am trying to do this by going into the Free Transfer bit in 'Edit Player', but when I select a player (eg Ian Pearce from West Ham to Fulham) and then try and place him in another squad, I can't as where it says 'Unregistered' isn't highlighted.

I've tried this for some players (eg Saha from Fulham to Man Utd) and it allows this, so why not for all players?! I also have the Ultimate Update disk, but this doesn't seem to solve the problem.

I'd be very grateful if someone could answer this for me. Cheers!

You have to swap the player with someone in an unregistered position within their existing team first.

Basically, you cant move players whilst they are still in the first team.

I have another problem though... I downloaded an option file and it had a lot of 'free' players left, and I edited them in the modify mode, but then went to the team strategy and they werent in the line ups? and i cant find the player anywhere.

any ideas?
