My PES3 keeps freezing at the formation screen. All my other games work on my ps2 this is the only 1. Has anyone else had this problem? I took my game back 2day thinking the disc had a problem but the new disc does exactly the same thing!!

What have you tried doing to stop this problem?

Its sounds like there is a problem with you PS 2!
Does it load up okay? I suggest you turn your PS 2 upside doen so the laser inside has changed around.

HOW CAN TURNING YOR PS2 USIDE DOWN POSSIBLY HELP????

It can surely do nothing but damage? ok, it worked on the PS1, but that was because the disc was fixed in place!!

if you turn the PS2 upside down the disc will fall out of the tray???!!!!???

am i wrong? i'm sure it says in the manual that moving the console around with a disc in will damage it, so turning it upside down seems ludicrous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just try it in a few different positions see who's wrong or right?

i'm not saying DaddyMac is wrong, i'm just saing I can't possibly fathom how it would work. It may make your playstation Work, but from where i stand it MAY ruin your playstation, laser and DISC!!!

BEWARE!!
this tactic, if you do choose to use it, is dangerous to your PS2, you use it under your own free will, no one on this forum who suggested it can take responsibility. its you and you alone

Try to use a PS2 lens cleaner, then hoover the vents out to remove some dust. My Ps2 stopped playing games all together, so i took it to my local computer shop and the guy opened it up and give it a good clean out, did the trick for £25, if not then its £65ish for a new lens or £139.99 for a new Ps2 i'm afraid.

From where you stand and from where i'm standing isn't it your playstation thats has the problem?

You took the game back and got a new one and from what i understand it still doesn't work right?

The PS2 is designed to stand on it rubber feet and also to stand up right!

You haven't got two players on the same team and no second controller in have you?

I'm just saying, 'cos I'd been round my mates playing two player co-op, and when I loaded the master league, the game paused itself at the beginning of the match as I only had one controller plugged in. I thought the game had froze, but it was simply because I had only one controller and it was a two player game.

Probably nothing to do with this, but I thought I'd let you know anyway as an outside shot.

daddymac, you should go to the Control Panel and use the Signature options to make one that says "Who's your daddy?".

It will save you having to write it all the time.
Good line though :)

Hey, I've been using that line since I joined. Got it from PES1 at the end of the animation movie before the mode select options appear.

Anyway, the only solution I can think off is your memorycard . My cousin's screen froze and wouldnt load up Vice City. but when he started a new game it worked fine but he lost what he had put into the memorycard.

Yeah the disk is in good condition. My ps2 is over 2 years old. I took the memory card out and tried it bt it is still freezing. I think the ps2 has become to dusty inside or sumthing so i am going get sum1 to look at it.

If the dust is developing inside the disc tray or round the edges its no problem but when i got dust inside the ps2 itself it began freezing more and more regualy! Its annoying and easy to fix so im told! i dont bother with specialists and bought a new ps2!

Thats what i am considering doing. My dad says he will get it all sorted by 2night if he doesnt i will get a new one.

Give ya dad a bit of time cause i went out and bought a new one straight away! my friends ps2 developed the same problem and he hired a specialist - fixed in two days! theres a big difference between £20 and £199!
