Furthest long-range goal?

I play on PS2, but was just wondering what was the furthest goal in distance everyone has scored.

I've scored 32m goals on a few occasions, on my Master League with Steve Ireland, Andres Iniesta and Tom Huddlestone (one with a volley), but earlier I was playing against the computer (haven't played Master League for months - cba) and hit a 33m screamer with Patrick Vieira.

But it got even better yesterday, I was Chelsea v Spurs, Lampard scored a 37m belter past Paul Robinson. So that's my record, smashing what was the previous one of 32m.

My mate played me the other week and we think his goal with Kranjcar was 38m, though it could've been 36m. He claims 38m, so I'm on a mini-mission to beat it whenever I get the chance to shoot with a lot of space ahead.

Also I've been poor at free-kicks on Pro, scored 1 in like 4 or 5 Master League seasons (Jenas past Cech), but was playing a few days ago as Nigeria, and John Utaka clipped in a beauty. And to show it wasn't fluke, Miroslav Klose just hit one perfect from 27m against Argentina.

So what's everyone's furthest long-range goal?

I wanna know how you (and other people) know how long the distances are...

Ive scored many long range goals and never has the commentator said anything about distance, nor has the distance appeared.

it's in stats. i think it might be available straight after the game, if you click individual player stats. not sure.
can't remember if the distance shows up on replays for normal shots.
but if you go to your 'track record' in gallery i think, it shows the longest distance you've scored from.

Can never score long free kicks. Longest goal was a 50 something yard hit from Micah Richards. Not that impressive, the keeper had come out of his goal to meet a long ball, the clearance found Gerrard who nodded to Richards, and his shot beat the keeper.

Bit like Petrov's vs Derby recently, but not as amazingly accurate.

At the end of a game, when the Menu appears, click on Match details, then R1, and you should be able to look through all the shots that took place in the game.

The ones circled in red are the goals and each attempt shows what minute it was in and the distance. If I hadn't have looked at this after the game where Lampard beat Robinson, I wouldn't have known it'd beaten my record. The replays don't state the distance unfortunately.

after match go individual game records and select the player you scored with you will see the distance... or when you take the free kick on top it reads the distance.

as for me, i scored a 37.8 meter distance set piece (free kick) with gonzalo Higuain who plays for R.Madrid he's a cf . it went to the far top right hand corner the keeper was no were near it you have to use the analogue gently and press <square > to the half of the bar and press <x>or <triangle>.that it

Similar to mine with Nani, 46 metres out.

Ive also scored one with my classic Argentinian left back, Passerella from exactly the halfway line, but I don't know how far that is. I guess i'd better check in that achievements list in the gallery.

About 55m that is; both goals came from lobbing the 'keeper after he'd come out? Never happens for me that; the 'keeper coming out.

I get a lot of one on ones, and the best way to finish those is get fairly close to the 'keeper, take your finger off sprint, then direct your man left or right and hit sprint, then you've rounded him for a tap in.

However, this can end up if you skying it or not rounding the 'keeper enough, allowing him to smuggle. Really pisses me off when that happens.

But I don't mind rounding the 'keeper, getting clipped, getting him sent off and having a penalty ;]

The keeper will only come out when the opposition is attacking. If you have all your men in your half and the opposition are coming forward to the half way line or maybe a bit more, the goalkeeper will start to ease out to the edge of his box, you'l see it on the radar.

From here, if you can steal the ball and steady yourself for a clean shot, press circle or B (xbox) and hold R2. Your shot will dip down into the goal with the keeper stranded.

Also, if you play a team at the end of the season in master league - in negotiations like the world star team or fastest players team, the computer doesn't assign anyone to take their corners, so their goalkeeper does it. If you can head the ball out, gain control, steady yourself around about the halfway line and shoot, you have almost guarenteed a goal.

For 1 vs 1's ive realised to NEVER EVER use super cancel whilst shooting. It is absolutely USELESS. Instead stick with the traditional dummy (shoot and pass). You will either get an empty net to shoot in or a penalty.

Super Cancel is useful, as it's the only proper way of cancelling - say if you hit the wrong button, that's what it's for.


Also, I just hit probably my longest range goal with a keeper in goal, Lucas, from over 40 yards.

Mine was was 47 meters. I unlocked the achievement. It was with Totti with as roma on season 2009.

Damn, I broke mine and my mate's record the other day. 42m with Nigel Reo-Coker past Paul Robinson.

Just a total power drive and a slight lob, but I'm pleased to have beaten the 40m mark, and with Reo-Coker.

Been coming close last few days, Riise can hit them. But my best is 42m now, pleased with that.
