Game freezing (PS3 issue)

Hello PES Community,

As many are aware, the game keeps freezing frequently during the load up in the match whilst in the tunnel. I've only had it a few times since today, but today I've had it at least 5-6 times. That's why I thought I should create this thread to inform you about the damage this game is doing to our console.

I phoned the PS3 Careline to inform them of this situation. My words exactly were "During the load up before a match in PES2010, it frequently freezes and I have to hold the power button to turn it off. It bleeps once, then after 6-7 seconds it bleeps three times before turning off. I'm worried that it may damage my console, is this true?" He then told me it could cause damage such as data corruption and possibly permanent damage to the console causing it to no longer work.

I think that this really needs sorted as I fear playing PES2010 now incase I damage my console. Konami really need to sort this problem out before the PES players start dropping.

I don't want to sound bad, but I'll say the truth.
Believe me, mine doesn't even freeze up. To my knowledge it froze up 3 times mostly since it came out and me and my brother play it everyday.
I am on ps3 BTW.

I would say mine freezes at least once every time i pay PES on my PS3, especially at the tunnel on the first 2 matches. After a forced reboot I very rarely get any problems. I've started saving after every match in my ML due to this.

I had a new one last night where my game froze as I scored a goal, never had that before.

Same. In 2 months of harcore play mine didnt even freeze once.

To the original poster,

You might want to add to the poll description that this poll is intended for ps3 users only.

The problem does not exist on the PC, and I am sure you do not want the all PC users voting for "no" or "don't care", which some might do as they are not aware that the problem is ps3 specific.

I thought this had gone away but yesterday I did get my first stadium freeze since the last patch. Always seems to be treated as a defeat online which is frustrating.

Its froze with mine but i figured out why, when i pop the disc in i always let the intro sequence run and then only press buttons when the main menu comes up

Everytime i skipped the intro sequence the 1st match always froze up in the tunnel

I contacted Konami directly and was a little pissed off during the whole convo as I'm not standing for a game, especially one which didn't live upto expectation to mess up my console.

Needless to say they gave me a a typical answer, one which someone gives when they know they have ****** up;

"We understand that this is an issue and we are working towards finding a solution, we hope to solve this problem in our next update"

This was about 6 weeks ago, it still freezes up on me, not as often as it used to but I have started to play PES 2010 very sparingly, less than 10 hours a week.

Oh and it will mess up your console in the long run, so if your warranty is about to expire or has expired, I'd suggest you quit playing until Konami confirm they have resolved the proble,

Thanks for this post CAN7ONA. I personally feel that it is very important that people understand what PES2010 is actually doing to their console, if they don't want to listen then that's fine, but for those who are concerned just make sure you're careful whilst playing PES2010. For e.g. don't keep pressing start to skip a clip as it could freeze, take your time and enjoy the game.

Hi played pro evo series for years had the 60gb reversable it went 2 months out of warranty got broken by the freeze, it done it about half a dozen times before i tried another game and it also done it with them so be carefull it doe's !!!k up your console.Had to buy new slimeline at £249 and have a 60gb waiting for konami to admit there's a big problem with the game and get it sorted. I am not alone in saying we have spent a hell of a lot money on the pro evo series so they may not have the same support or money spent on their future games

Just had a thought with the new slimeline i have not had the freeze is it just the older modeles that are getting the problem please let me know be interesting to find this out. cheers

I am surprised by this. Is it only the american version then? I have the UK version and it never froze as you're saying. I am serious about this as I do not want to get a broken ps3

Mines uk version as i say it broke my 60gb reversable console,but has not done it on the new 120gb slimline i would like to hear from other users that have had this problem.

That sucks, must be a UK PS3 issue. I got the 80gb PS3 and NA version of Pes and after clocking 500 hours didn't suffer a single freeze.

I have an 80GB ps3 (the ones with 2 controllers included) and the uk version of pes if that matters and not a problem mentioned here happened to me. I do not know if I should be happy or sad about this. I don't want my ps3 to break.

I have the same problem with PES2010. Sometimes when I start a match, when the players walk out the tunnel it just freezes and I wait a few minutes but nothing happens so I just restart my PS3 which gets really anoyying..

Oh and 'Shaun7'... I have an 80GB PS3 too (U.K).
