There should b a golf style power/angle/curl bar so you can also score lobbed freekicks and do precise corners like on ISS2

There should be freekicks inside the penalty area for illegal passbacks

There should be more skill like kneeing the ball over a players head and nutmegging.

they should make a "jump" button so when the ball gets crossed in to the middle you can time your run and jump to perfection and smack the ball into the back of the net
Your idea is great. Wrong timing may see you colliding with the defender. Realistic. In fact I have suggested to Konami a Jump button. The R2 is not effective. I have never seen my player jump before. A dedicated button will be instrumental in avoid a sliding tackle while on speed dribble. It is important that we are able to flick the ball across hurdle(sliding tackle) prior to the jump.Hence the flick and jump should complement each other. During a speed dribble, if your jump is timed wrongly or mistimed tackle resulting in your player being tripped (I mean there is a risk to everything) ,should be sent sprawling some metres away risking injury as a result.

I think they should base the game on english footie rather than italian, nearly all players are bloody wimps!! they go flying at anything, its well annoying, sometimes it would be nice if the player just stayed on his feet and tried to win back the ball

I think every player should have 6-12 throwing stars depending on his/her transfer value.

Keepers with chainsaws isn't asking too much either.

Stuff

The advantage play is poo, it does nothing! when the thing is up the opposing player can win the ball and the foul is not blown up like it should be, all it does is let you carry on, that should be designed better

I would like to see referees in the game

Indirect free-kicks is a must as well was the fk inside the area, penalties should be harder with a power button for that so u can chip it in?!

u should be able to dive, that would make it really interesting

much more teams needed, the kit advertistment idea is a great one

the handball is stupid, if you kick it hard into a pack of players 8/10 handball will be given AGAINST you, has anyone ever won a pen from handball?

the arrows are blooming annoying so random it seems, do these arrows effect the computers teams when ur playing against them?if so u shud see them making changes b4 the match

training ground set pieces is a great idea i really like that aswell as the jump button

what i like about pes3 is in training mode, when u can skip back a few moves thats really cool!

cant think of much else

Here's what I think would be useful, after watching Real Madrid vs Bayern last night I saw Beckham take a corner where he passed the ball and then made a run straight away where the guy he passed it to laid it on to him to take a well worked shot.

So I figured that in PES4 you could use training mode to order your players to do something like that from a set piece. ie telling some single players where to move to, because normally the corner taker wouldn't really do anything in the game after takeing the corner. Once u've set up the players to move where u want them, using some kind of cursor tool to select a player and point out a spot for to run to, then u could save that move to some button configuration which u would press in the game to set the command, much like the managerial tactics in there now (L2 and X/O/whatever).

Then the commentator would say something along the lines of "There's one from the training ground". It would also make more use of the training mode to the player such as in real life.

Nice idea..

Add drilled free-kicks (right and left footed players standing with the ball, running over, pushing the ball aside etc.) and the set pieces feature would be complete!

Dives, like on Fifa99 where you could dive and depending on timing you either get a freekick or the computer can get a freekick or bookings

Also in Fifa99 a 'golden goal mode' where its the first team to score a chosen amount of goals between 1 and 9

I tink u should b able 2 brink the keeper forward for a corner/freekick manually instead of auto in the 90th minute also when you are making a run with the keeper and are in attack and he passes it the computer should not make him go back on his line, i think that should be the players' decision

i think that some of the special abilities should be put into stats, for instance "marking" should be an ability as there are no defensive stats apart from "defense"

someone may have already suggested it, but since i cant be bothered reading all of the other posts, here it goes:
1. The obvious one is to include handballs in the box or get rid of the rule altogether (lost count of the amount of blatant handballs denied in the box)
2. In ML, if you run a set pice play, ie a floated free kick headed across goal with an overhead at the end, you should save it as like :L2: :x: and when you get a free kick in a similar position, they should try and pull of the move. it wont work 100% of the time, as they might not win the header or the overhead, but the principle would be cool.
3. IMPROVE THE CROWD!!! football games are not attended by cardboard cut-outs.
4. a totally new intro scene for matches. picture this:
Arsenal vs Chelsea flashes up(if they are the two teams playing) and Brackley starts talking about it. on the pitch we see all the players+subs training and signing autographs and what not. cut to shot of managers, brooking tells us about them. cut to the danger-man in each team( say, Henry+stats and Mutu+stats)(stats being age heaight and number). Brooking tells us about them. bring up all the players selected, but not necessarily the starting 11 or their positions. During this, the players go into the tunnel followed by applauding. then the same a before, plash to tunnel with handshakes and stuff. players come out do their picture. starting line-up flashes up and move into posistions. referee and assistants credited. and we're ready for the kick off. Longer, but more realistic.
5. if it is a final, the players should pass by the trophy as they walk onto the field.
6. REAL REFEREES!!!!
7. Celtic, znd i guess Liverpool now that they copy us, should do a huddle every time(which should get a huge cheer from the home crowd or a huge Boo if they are away).
thats about it.

As well as the above, I wish it showed how much injury time was being played. It really bugs me when you're 1 up, and the ref just allows play to go on and on....whilst the opponent has the ball....for as long as it takes for a) them to score or b) you to get the ball. I timed it once, and converted it into "game" time, to find we had played an equivalent 17 minutes injury time, and that's just bullcrap.
17 minutes! That's longer than the stoppage time in the African Nations Cup. lol.

yes, but a lot of brits dont know NFL clubs do it. so we get away with it. it actually originated with a German team, i believe, when Andy Thom joined us in 94. i think it was either hertha berlin or hamburger SV. either way, yes, NFL clubs do it, but they do it to excess. we only do it once a game.

you should be able to - pivot on the ball -

turning 180 degrees straight into a defender and keeping the ball shouldn't be easy, but it shouldn't be impossible either

and while we're on the subject, more situations involving posting up a defender like in basketball
