Metroid Prime is a brilliant game.
Almost worth the console money by itself.
I have 25 games for the Gamecube. I have several for PS2. You will notice that the top-of-the-range GC games have better graphics than most of the premier PS2 titles. The loading times are also far quicker.
...How technology moves forward in 18 months!
Can't wait for PES6 (or whatever) on PS3. :D

I would say the Gamecube is certainally value for money. I agree with what stevieboy says, Metroid Prime is a great game and the loading times are second to none. Mario Kart: Double Dash is also another great title.

i wasnt too impressed with mario kart though and half the controls for the zelda games didnt work

How can you diss zelda??

Zelda, Metroid Prime and MarioKart are my favourite games on the gamecube and i would buy the console just for them. :)

I think GC is shite, the games are too babyish, if you do buy one on eBay, buy it uder "Buy it now" because, you will loose bidding, unless you bid a high price

Medroid Prime... i dont think it would interest a kid ;)
but your right that theres more 'babyish' games for the gamecube to the ps2

They're not "babyish" as such, they're just great multiplayer games. They're "get up 'n' go" games, rather than 45-minutes-to-get-into-it single player games.

Mario Sunshine is a good platformer, well converted to 3D, Mario Kart: Double Dash is a great game (though the multiplayer racing is better than battles as far as my group are concerned), and there's lots of other titles out which seem worth a look.

Get a pre-owned GameCube from GAME for £40. Worth every penny and much more.

Gamecube isn't good console simply because lack of good games. All hardware is only as good, as good are his games, and gamecube with his infantile games can't be recomended to anyone older 9 years.

...which, alas is why the GC section in your local "Game" is right at the back of the store. Unfortunately, they've marketed themselves away from most folk over 18.
There are a few crappy, infantile games for the GC, but in general, the quality of the games graphics, originality & gameplay is better than the PS2 range.
ISS on the GC is crap because of the controller making all that "clacking" racket when you do anything.
Oh, and the game's arcade fodder.
Not that anyone's mentioned PES's dim-whitted bro...

great value for money i would rate it behind my ps2 but games are different on the gamecube like when u get a new game it so exciting. There are some excellent games for the cube i had most fun out of pikmin and it was the first game that i completed for the gc ( so addictive). Eternal darkness was a big shock got it free with the gamecube however one of the greatest games ever, bril dialogue, good story, fab game. Zelda and metroid both great games althought i have not completed either as i started other games and sort of forgot what i was going to do next. Metroid is certainly value for money as it is such a long game. Mario kart is great for mulity player,so good releases to such as harvest moon, animal crossin, res evil 4, killer 7 pikmin2, new starfox, metroid 2, new zelda.

could anyone tell me where to get the shards on zelda i need to more can not find the info in walkthroughs. i need the one in the ghost ship and i don't no where the other one is.
plese help

And I'd rate my Gamecube collection a lot more than I would my PS2 one. In fact, I only own a PS2 because of Pro Evolution. But now I can get that for PC... I don't really see the point in owning a PS2 any more. If it wasn't so damaged (it's fallen off the shelf a couple of times :D), I'd probably be selling it right now.

Gamecube, however, I will always own. Like the N64, the original games are fantastic to play, and keep me captivated. Although there hasn't been quite the same quality of titles the fantastic N64 had, games like Metroid Prime, Wind Waker, Mario Sunshine and F-Zero GX are all excellent exclusive titles. Plus the Resident Evil series is pretty much Gamecube-only, as well as Mario Kart, Super Monkey Ball and Conflict Desert Storm being amazing multiplayer experiences.

the game cube has the great game ive already mentioned, eternal darkness, zelda, mario kart, metriod prime and so on, but there also great games in the future as there are all the seguels and next products for the top games already out for the cube but also there is resident evil 4 which looks very different to most games on the market, Paper mario 2 looks great fun and killer 7 is going to be massive!
