Hi all
In need of some help, I have a ps3 and an Xbox 360 but want to get a pc that can handle pro evo.

If anyone has any advice that would be great I'm a real newbie when it comes to pc

Can I hook it up directly to a LCD tv?

How much do I need to spend?

Any recommendations on what I should buy?

I would be purely using it for pes and nothing else

Thanks in advance

Have you got a PC now what you could build on because PES isn't all that demanding........And how much are you willing to spend?
Yes you can connect your PC to your TV.

No you can't upgrade it.
I presume there's a crappy onboard gpu in the laptop?

I'd suggest you try and learn how to build a PC if you want to get the most for your money.
Really easy to do and there's plenty of Youtube video tutorials.
I'd help you pick which parts you'd need.

Might help if you say which Country you are from as well.

Don't even need you tube vids. the Motherboard instructions is all you need to simply fit everything to together. All you might need help with is Bios settings but even these shouldn't be a problem.

My very modest Rig right now runs PES 13 a treat at 1080P everything maxed as much as settings will allow and run a constant 60FPS.

My rig.

4GB DDR2 Memory
ATI 6950 2GB
Core 2 Quad Q8300 @ stock 2.3ghz.

So nothing amazing there and you could build something similar but slightly upgraded for fairly cheap.

You do need to watch Youtube videos or someone to tell you how to build a PC and how to handle the components etc... Unless you want to risk fucking it up be my guest and just go of the instructions.
If your getting it just for PES you don't need a ATI 6950 2GB as that is far to much of an overkill. A graphics card half the price of that will run PES at a constantly high FPS.

I have never had either of those and of the 50+ PC's I have built have never damaged one component for any reason.

Not saying he shouldn't use them just saying they are not explicitly needed in my experience.

as for the 6950, agreed. Just for this game it is a little overkill .

PES is not very demanding. I am also running on a VAIO with similar specs. The Intel HD 3000 should be able to handle it. Download the demo and see how it runs. your vaio should have an HD slot, what i do is connect it thru the tv thru there and it runs perfect (hdmi to hdmi). I also connected my ps3 controller.

Will be able to connect it straight to your TV with an HDMI cable.
Just get a wireless Keyboard and mouse along with a Wireless 360 controller with the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Window and your good:thumbsup:

I have friends that run it with your gaming card so I dont think you will have a problem. Def playable and I dont think u need a new rig.
As for the PS3 controller, there is a program called motioninjoy, which lets you connect to your pc via usb. it can also connect via bluetooth but i havent done that. hope it helps

Good forums for building PCs with knowlegable people ... And as said , PES series usually don't need a top notch system .. A 500$-700$ will do more than enough , but as long as you would hit the nail and build a system , it's better to do it good from the first shot , i.e. have a good gaming system not just for PES but also other upcoming games..
Hope that helps,
Cheers

Thanks for you're help all, tried the demo on my laptop all was fine until I hooked it up to tv and made the screen fit, then the gameplay stuttered a little.

Maybe need to play with resolution settings etc any advice on this?

i think this has to do with the resolution. This happens to me with the tv in the living room, but not with my other tv where it plays smooth. I dont remember how i changed it. I know with pes2012 it was with one gameplay patch. with the demo i dont know.

The 2013 demo plays fine (on medium settings) on my 2009 Dell XPS laptop, as did PES 2012.

So I don't think you will need to spend much money if you only are planning on playing PES which (thanks God) isn't very demanding. Just make sure the graphics card is decent and you should be fine.
